If it is made for co2 (for calcium reactors i think) then it should be okay :) Just look for the right tank that will fit the regulator, check if it still works also. The brand looks like eheim. Just look for the right co2 cylinder i think.

gro-lux are supposed to be plant bulbs right ? a good thing to do is to mix the bulbsm, get a gro lux and a standrad daylight bulb :) that should be better IMO

6,500 is a good kelvin range... :) 5,000 is yellowish for me :) hehe BUUT right now im using a 4,400 kelvin bulb ! my tank is really yellowish but its the only way i can notch up my lighting ...

looks like algae to me.. cyanobacteria algae BGA(blue green) I believe ... a pain to get rid of.. It should be really stinky when you smell it

hey those things are common here, cost somwhere near 30-40 dollars if converted to dollars :) You can use a powerhead to push the water thru ir or better yet a canister hehehe

looks like hair algae or staghorn maybe :) it would be nice if you provided us with more information on your tank. lighting, co2 and ferts :) try to balance your tanks. Controlled algae is possible but im assuming its hard :P hehe for the chemical part, you can use bleach BUT it can also kill...

depends on your glass diffuser :) some have built in bubble counters, some dont, some can become bubble counters when water seeps into the glass diffuser hehe..

hmm the only problem i can see is that maybe the plants are not growing fast enought (for the first few weeks) to keep the algae at bay. My anubias, mosses and limnophilia are a bit slow growing compared to other plants :) Im ot sure about the hygropilia, never tried it out.

Its a freshwater hydra... Normal for tanks actually, can be a bit tricky if it gets out of hand... I had them in my tank before but it magically dissapeared :) Its not that big of a problem really :) BUT there are cases i think that bigger hydras have managed to catch really small shrimp, and...

Hey i think there was a similar post like this a long time ago... This time i dont think a search would be usefull. Anyway i doubt it :) but if the algae wafer is really rotting away then the spike in ammonia or other levels might cause the algal bloom :D hehe
