IMO the best thing to do when starting a new tank is a get a small school of zebra danios. Works wonders.

get a bichir, or a red-wolf, (erythrinus erythrinus). Turn it brackish and get a puffer, F8 maybe? meh theyre just my fav fish to keep.

no a sepcific type is of no bother as long as theyre not hybrids and are pure endlers. I havnt seen any at wildwoods, havnt chekced maidenhead though.

Firstly you shouldnt have a Siamese fighter with guppies, male ones mainly to be precise. This is due to the guppies ahving colourful flaring tails and the siamese fighter getting intimidated by it and attacking them. A very possible outcome. Zebra danios are fine in groups of 4 but deffinitely...

Find a home for your fish, thats a heap of money waster but it really is for the best, maybe another lfs can take them in for store credit. Once youve done that, start your tank back up and add 5 zebra danios, very hardy fish, personally what i use to cycle new tanks. Keep checking the cycle...

most places like homebase and b&q dont sell it, i get mine from a local diy woodworks shop for like 4 quid for a small tube.

The algae is not of a serious matter but I would like to add a plec cause i like plecs too. I just dont want to do it if its gonna end up getting munched on :) I dont really want snails tbh but they can be ok plecs are the pwnage tho so yeh hmmm

what plec if any will be suitable with a redwolf fish? Or even snails or anything taht cleas algae that will be ok with a red-wolf fish.

I got some but its like 4 quid for a tiny tube (what a rip) it says clearly on it aquarium safe so meh.

My danios and tetras have no problems with my betta but thats not to say its the case with everyone. Tetras can be very nippy and nip away at the bettas fins.

What kinda silicone would be safe for fish? can i go to a diy shop and just ask for clear silicone sealant or do i need to be more specific?

Can they live together or must you only keep one at a time? I dont mind keeping only one at a time but Id prefer to do what would suit the fish best.
