Sorry for hijacking but how big are the fry once they're 'released' from the protection of their parents? I want to put a pair in my 40 gallon setup (containing platies), but don't actually want to keep any fry that may come my way; I'd rather just keep the pair and have any fry 'naturally'...

Their Hydor Koralia power heads are very cheap compared to elsewhere, which is what i had my eye on. Though i think i'd rather pay extra from somewhere else rather than have to wait ages for it to be delivered.

I think i've worked out why their prices are so good. :lol:

Aye, the layout wasn't the best but the customer service was good.

I used to keep java fern and java moss, which seemed to grow pretty well without the need for high maintenance.

My Rio 180 has been in our converted loft for around five years with no problems. However, i imagine it will depend on the structure of your house, its age etc..

I assume you're working in parts per million (ppm)? If so 30 is too low. Ideally you want to be getting a reading of 35 ppm.

Have you used any copper based medications? They're very intolerant of copper as are most invertebrates.

I love Cavalier King Charles Spaniels but due to their health problems i'd be reluctant to have one. I would love one, though. :nod:

What i would do from now in is research everything you need to know online and in books as the means of building your knowledge and discount anything your LFS's say, using them purely to buy your equipment/stock (unless you have other LFS's you know are knowledgeable and reliable.) That's what...

I was in my LFS earlier and they had some rams labelled as 'royal rams.' Does anybody know if they go by another name? They looked a bit like Bolivians to at first glance, but i'm no expert. :blink:

Tropicalfish4u sell them, but i've never ordered livestock from the internet so i can't vouch for their quality.

I'd agree that they're not all the same, i think it differs from store to store depending on who they employ. My local store has a pretty healthy selection of fish and a helpful staff team. Unfortunately i'm sure there are many stores out there that aren't the same.

With a tank that size i'd definitely be looking to keep something different and interesting. There's nothing more interesting than sharks and rays. :D I never had a saltwater setup big enough to house them. :X
