hi i really really want these fish . does anyone know a good website where i can order them and if they are in a shop how can i tell that they are mickey mouse platies??

I live in cambridge, does anyone know a good shop that could supply them??

Dont know where you can get them but when you see them they are unmistakable! Their tail end will have Mickey Mouses face on it!

If you go to any of your local aquatic centres they are bound to have Mickey Mouse Platies because they are very common and always seem to be in abundance in any shop I've been in. You can tell they are Mickeys because they will have the distinctive black Mickey Mouse shaped head on their tail. Or just ask someone who works in there to point them out - they are usually orange with the black marking on the tail.

They breed very easily, too, so if you don't want fry every few weeks you'd best avoid getting a female!

omg, this sounds stupid but i didnt realise they had a mcikey mouse face on them!! omg that is soo cool!!! ive just been to disney and am loving disney things right now!! i need them!!

I have two Sunburst Mickey Mouse Platies. They were my first fish. The last ones I really liked were all white with a black Mickey Mouse. The wife thought they were boring looking and lacking enough color though.

these are very similair to my old tiger platys, my male had 3-4 verticle stripes of orange down the belly as did the females but lighter on the females..
the male is at 1:15

The come in orange, red, white, and blue varieties that I've seen. Mine are a pale silvery blue with orange fins and a very dark blue Mickey on their tail. Platys are pretty much mutts so you should be able to find just about any color of them you'd want that platys come in.

These are my favourite fish too. Ive got 3 orange 5 blue.

Mine are still in quarantine, I bought them 2 weeks ago. They are the hi fin variety and I bought them from Fish Inc in sheffield. They have a website but I dont know if they post.

why did you want them if you didnt know about the marking? surely a normal platty would have been fine?

thanks everyone, i thought they were just called mickey mouse platies for i dunno but the magic of being called mickey mouse is what made me want them lol!! i went to my lfs today and ordered some yay!! so i should get some in a few weeks!! woo
