IMHO id say it could depend on your size of tank and what kind of filter you have. It also obviously depends if you replace ALL the filter media & how many & what size of fish you have....

Has anyone ever ripped out their internal Juwel filter and heater box? I was thinking of replacing it all with an exteral filter & 2 lower wattage heaters. Does the black box come away easy? Id be doing this with the fish IN the tank, but will probably leave it if its a big deal! :S

Hard to see from that picture but my oscars head was white (think he hit his head jumping up for food) with scales hanging off. They did grow back and he is all grey now again, hard to tell if your fish has done the same thing though. Can you see any loose scales???

Sorry ive been so long coming back, if anyone is interested it seems to have cleared up following daily 10% water changes! Excellent! I already do twice weekly 15% changes anyway... Wierd. Still at least its gone! :thumbs: Water changes solve a lot!

Never seen that before although i only have one parrot... Nice fish you have there but did you realise that black marking is a sign of disease ONLY found in parrot fish??? :S

I recently moved house with my 260l tank. I dumped ALL my old water out. Just use new water, thats the best way me thinks... Ive also moved 2 of my dads tanks, a 60l and a 125l both with 100% water changes. All was fine, no casualties reported - SIR! Lets face it, you dont move house everyweek!

Personally, i wouldnt add it. I think you have enough in your tank already. Dependant on an angel fishes size it would eat neons too... :no:

Thanks fellas, just like to know wat people pay for fish... Always reckon were being ripped off here in n.ireland, only a few dedicated "fish only" shops, so i guess they can charge a bit more because of low competition! :/

Will you tell us how much you paid for it. My LFS was selling red rainbow fish for £6. they were about 2"... Just curious!

I think if you changed 20 litres once a week, doing a gravel vac at the same time you will be fine (this is aroung a 10% change). Get a large bucket and mark it at 20 litres. This is a good way of knowing how much to take out. Not sure if im insulting your intelligence here but ill just tell you...
