Can You Make A Community Of Male Bettas ?

I don't think the thread was started to cause a stink. It only turned that way as an easy out, I guess. A lot of breeders raise multiple spawns together. I guess I fail to see the big joke...?
  2. wuvmybetta

    Tricky Question

not necessarily. William has a Honey-do list for when he comes in, and the mods update it as needed. I'm not sure if this Science board you speak of is in there, but it couldn't hurt to bump up the thread when he's around, just in case.

    Giant Hog Killed

I can't wrap my mind around the people making death threats against this kid for killing a pig  Good gravy, whatta world. Anyway, I saw a different pic on the news last night and it was a bunch of them sitting around the hog with their arms on him and he looked pretty darn big to me...

    Whats In A Pellet?

There's different quality from brand to brand, but as far as sinking versus floating there is really no difference. It just depends on what your fish prefer. My large cichlids will not look twice at sinking food, it literally drops right before their eyes and they keep staring up at the surface...

Dog Just Drank Dirty Fish Water...

:shout: no kidding. mine will walk past a clean bowl of water to sneak a drink out of my daphnia cultures  last year she got a case of hookworms. The vet said it was very uncommon and had no idea where she could have picked them up. But I suspected that I knew, so,yeah, discourage it...

You Have To Feel Sorry For This Guy

I've imagined that many times over. But I don't think my imagination can even digest how absolutely horrible that would be. and it's likely that no one's going to buy that tank.
  9. wuvmybetta

    Tricky Question

Actually, quite the opposite. It was extremely stressful. With that said, whatever needs to be done via admin controls can always wait for William. The mods have enough controls to tend to the immediate things while he's away. Nothing, as far as forum upgrading, is that pressing. :good:

    Disease Journal Sub Forum?

I actually like this idea a lot. The ER section has been in need of a simple, easy to navigate format, because let's face it...not a lot of people realise that they can use the search function. Not to mention those who don't even know what it is, exactly, that they're searching for. Nor do they...

    New Juvie Red Devil

The first pic was about a year and eight months ago, she was barely two or three inches then. Now she's closer to eight or nine inches. I kept her in a 20 for a couple of months, just until I could rearrange and move her to a 55. Now she's on her way to needing a hundred gallon. Soon, not yet...

    Television Fish

cc! I am, I am. The wait has been a killer, but I'll be sad when it's over. If I recollect correctly, Chris had a cichlid community with lots of rock. They never showed it up close but I swore I saw demasoni! wasn't there a betta fight in one James Bond movie? and just today one of those...

    Cleaned Coral

Because I soak everything that I bleach in dechlorinated water :P I guess I'm just paranoid like that. I was kind of curious as to why you were putting dead coral into a fw tank. I'm only assuming it's fw though..

    Cleaned Coral

I would soak it in a bucket with heavily dechlorinated water first.

    Television Fish

I hate that too. I always imagine the directors saying "aaand that's a wrap, who wants lunch?" and leaving the fish there. But, on topic, I always notice too  Just the other day I was watching that new Rob Corddry show and noticed a bowl with maybe 3" of water, I couldn't...

Zomg Help Me Out All My Fish Are Floating On The Top Dead...kyaaa!

your tank looks ridiculous with the gravel half and half like that. You look ridiculous as well, coming back to prove people on a message board 'wrong' with that tank . What a noob. Oh, and a "well established" tank is usually over a year old, and your fish are nowhere near full grown. He who...

Thank you, fishlette! I assume you're talking about the grouper because he's undeniable in the cuteness department. guppydude, I've always admired mandarins, and it sucks to have to put him down in the sump, especially now that he's out and about all of the time. But I can't ever find any...

How Would I Go About Splitting A Tank?

True, true. No halides for me. My tank consists of the heater, the pump, and a junky light. It's buying the saltwater that's a killer. It's something I really, really hate paying for, so I usually trade fish. Gah, I did a bad, bad thing today (not really), but I got another (final!) newb for...

At End Of My Tether Can I Cut His Fins?

trimming fins is no big deal, and it doesn't harm the fish. It can be stressful for both of you though so if you do it- do it accurately and quickly. Use a clean razor and a wet towel to lie him on. I personally think it would be best to put him in a jar with methylene blue for a couple of hours...

    Daphnia

Mine are living in frozen buckets right now,so no they don't need a heater. I would be cautious about rinsing them...they don't do well at all without aged water. One time I did a large water change on a fry tank- then fed them daphnia and the daphnia instantly dropped dead from the new water...

    Sad Fizhiez!

They don't look like they're dying. Maybe a new little plant will perk them up. Or try moving them. My cousin has one of mine and she said he used to pout like that all day until she moved him to her kitchen table where he can see everything. Now he's happy as a clam.

Our electricity was outrageous this month. I don't think my husband realizes that my tanks add to the cost, and I've never taken the time to point it out, but I am going to take down a couple tanks that are nothing but extra cost. Not the big ones, mind you. Just a couple of 30's.
