Tina's Twin Bommies

I have to say, it took some doing, to keep that secret.

I have to say Nev, Chris and a few other NWMC members have talked me through everything and it was lovely getting that help.

I also knew that they were all local if I had any major probs and would have where they could.

I think sometimes we can overreact, but we have to go by others past experiences, I have been biting my nails slightly but it seems to be working out.

I thought long and hard about leaving the tang and RG in there, Ben's tragedy was at the front of my mind as was Ski's, but Tangs react to stress, if I had QT'd it, it would have got stressed on being moved again and I would be in the same situation anyway, moving it once only IMO reduces the stress on the fish.

Nevs Purple was absolutely covered apparently, he turned it round in 4-5 weeks. I trusted his judgment.

Lovely baby there Tina, saw a couple over here recently and mini me begged for one as he said it was cute,lol...trying to convince him it grew bigger and changed colour was a task,lol...nice addition and your sps are all looking well. Great bunch in that club....you met redone, paul, yet??..a true gent and ric crazy like myself.

Nope not met redone yet, there is a day out on 31st October, will meet most then.

Chris is a flatterer, must watch him. Boxing shrimp, really nice bloke, he's coming too. Northern Monkey, Grimo etc.

Thanks by the way, yep he will change to a gorgeous metallic blue colour, he is more blue than some specimens already.

wow you've had some real roller coaster rides in the past few weeks, tina

Hope all is settled down now.

Lovely little tang there

Funnily enough I checked the tank half an hour ago. There is no trace of spots on the royal gramma now, I only noticed the spots on it this morning. Been checking all fish over twice a day all week.

I don't think whitespot spots would have fell off that quick.

Both fish are now completely clear so I am thinking they must have been stress spots as Nev pointed they might.

I am feeling optimistic now. :good:

white spot tends to disapear for a day and them come back worse though...

id imagine that its just a bit of stress on the tangs part, when i added mine this time he had a few. They went after a few days and not seen anything since, fingers crossed its the same for you

Yeah, the royal gramma and the tang have had a few altercations so it should be just stress. Nev said his with whitespot looked they they had been dipped in a bag of sugar.

Neither of them looked like that, just a couple here and there.

hi tina

i like your taste in fish remember the tang will go a really nice blue colour after a few months the get a nice dark blue about 8 months on after juvinile and can grow to 2ft so give them some algea nori sheets every day and you will have a nice healthy tang

I thought the maximum full size was 13" Scott. Most sources I have read say so anyway.

He has been eating a mixture of purple algae and green algae with garlic, this is available all day every day. He is eating New Era pellets rolled up and stuck to the glass and will eat anything else I put in the tank too.

He is pooping well now too, took a little while for him to do one, with the heavy constant feeding he is much better.

Thanks, I fell for the blue, when you see pictures of the adults the metallic pale blue is a stunning colour.

Looking forward to watching him mature.

I have a plan for swapping him into the 6ft too, all tangs I then add I will try to get juveniles, Nev says these are less hassle as the adults already in the tank will ignore juveniles. They will then develop a pecking order as they grow.

I assume you will be turning your UV off after it's all been clean for a week or two?

All the best
Rabbut

Yes Rabutt, I will. Just need to get that stage first, and I hope its soon.

Did you see the anemone pics Rabutt?? Its weird that tentacles have started to fork, you can just see them in the pics, does this confirm or repudiate your earlier assumption of a piink / brown Malu??

It does make me closer to that ID, and it does send me further away from the BTA option, but it's still not 100%. It's nearly close enough for me to put money on now though (watch Skifletch come on and ID it definitely as something else now  )

Why would that send you further from the BTA, Bubbles get forked tenticals. But must admit, it's liking for being on the sand bed leads me to think it is a Malu
