At the moment mate it doesn't look any different to pics posted previously... just really mesh on show but it will take a fair old wild to grow through anyways to make any sort of difference.

ohh fair enough =D will look good once it does =]

you can see the new growth on that moss as well. :good:

Gotta love the moss!

It's growing well, just a pity the wood isn't big enough for it to reach it's full potential... maybe a similar scape on a larger scale one day.

Giving up on moss and trying something else?

Yes and no mate lol.... i cant stand this tank lol... it's to small (i stopped scaping small tanks years ago for this reason), it's not what i wanted to do with it, it was only setup to give me something to do while i was having really bad problems with my back... even though my back ain't better... i set up the 60l which is getting much more attention and this small tank i can just see going down the pan.

What i am considering is setting up this tank as an emmersed type thing (really haven't got to touch it then) and then going to fetch another 60l tank and going the planned jungle/wood scape i was meant to do with the other 60l

This tank is still running, it's still scaped as an island feel, i had to remove the sand due to it going black because of nothing stirring it.... and because i had to do this it just felt like a chore... once that happens, it really loses it's appeal tbh.

So yes, the moss will be going and so will the water most likely lol... and then i will get down to sorting my woodland jungle which im actually quite excited about lol (sad i know )

I'm really funny lol, if i dont like the way a tank is going, instead of sorting.. i will just scrap it

A little update... ive decided to keep this going so i had a little tinker with this today.... even though it would have been nice to see a full moss carpet (ive done this on countless occasions though), i couldn't help feeling that it wasn't the way i wanted to go.... from the start i didn't know what i wanted to do with this tank and as i mentioned from the start, the tank was pretty much thrown together after setting up a 60l tank on the same day and so i just went with it on a very basic/easy level.

Ive rescaped again , adding a couple more twigs and trimmed the moss on the original ones and reattached to these new ones, the island has been centralised yet again lol... but the substrate is now completely cat litter due to the above mentioned problems with the sand and it going bad.

I think im going to give HC a try in this... aswell as a scattering of staurogyne.... ive never really had a problem growing HC in a semi lowtech scenario so with anyluck it will continue to be hassle free.

The dosing with carbon, macro and trace will continue as it was before with the possibility of adding that little more carbon due to the HC.

Will have a look around for some HC and then get down to planting, this maybe a week or so due to my LFS not having any tropica stock in till then.

Will get pics up of before and after the planting.... i think i will finally enjoy this tank then and with anyluck i will stop messing and just let it grow ;).

Will update asap :)

Thanks for reading my rambles :good:

Sounds like a plan :)

Hopefully lol....

Just a couple of pics of the new layout, again though it's just very simple, easy to maintain and nothing special to look at.

This is the new layout with just the twigs...(disregard the make shift spray bar lol)

These are the pics with the newly added staurogyne, i decided to give the 60l a little trim so these are the off cuts which were just about usable, will now just have to see if they grow
