New Scape (60L).... Now .... ' Iwagumi Without A Twist '

it's all looking very healthy! :good:

I'm jealous, I can't grow Staurogyne, never had any luck with it lol, your substrate looks like its leveling out a little or is it my eyes?

In the past ive found it relatively easy to grow.. but i have found some apparently easy grow plants harder. Strange how some have better luck than others

I think the substrate is down to me, i think the pic angles give the impression of it being leveler than it is... i also planted wet and levelled a certain amount myself... will teach me to stop being lazy and actually drain the tank first lol .

Hopefully it will continue to do so, being toying with the idea of upping light levels and going pressurised but i may just buy a new tank for that.... still indecisive yet lol.

What kind of cat litter is this?

Just low dust tesco brand mate.... really does need one hell of a clean but you get good results after.

Thankyou :)

Lol I know mate with planting while there's to much water, I leveled a scape completely doing it once, had to start over, wasnt happy lol, looking good tho mate. :good:

No updates as such just wanting some opinions ;).

The central pathway shall we call it, i want it carpeted.... what do people think it would look like using glosso?.

if you want Glosso then go for it, IMO somethings grow when you don't think they will, and vise versa. You'd only need 3 pots for that as well. It's great to experiment, and if it fails, it fails. Amano even fails sometimes.

Your mentioning Amano a lot at the mo Ian, you reading your book again lol?

is he not the reason we do nature aquariums? lol

Yeh true, i dont think growing will be a problem, will just grow slowly which im expected anyways. It was more what others thought about how it may look tbh.... the less uniform look to HC may not look right with this scape but i guess it would be a matter of trying and seeing i guess ;).

As to the failing, yes even Amano does, i bet he doesnt deep down like it though just like nobody else would :p

Cheers for the input mate :)

looks great Just the filters spoiling the look.

Thankyou :good: ... totally agree on the filters, i need to get an external but with past vet bills and still unknowing if i have to fork out £2000+ for an MRI, i have more pressing priorities lol.... these are cycled and are doing the job for now so im just gonna have to suffer the look for the time being untill i know if the huge vet bill is necessary :/

Thanks for the comments though guys.

Boy do I understand huge vet bills. Just dealt with that last month and still paying for it. Had a litter of puppies pick up parvo AT THE VET. The 5 pups brought it home to my 6 month old Rat Terrier, so had SIX sick pups. The vaccinated Rattie got it the worst and spent 8 days in ICU, and we lost one of the younger pups with home treatment after it looked like he was starting to improve. All in all, I'm pretty happy with a 5 and 1 record with parvo and hope never to go up against it ever again. Good luck with your furbaby. The fish don't care about an ugly filter. ;)

Thanks for the positive words hun.... with any luck it wont have to happen but if so then, so be it :)....

Yeh the filter is last on my priority list so fish weather they did care would have to lump it ;) lol.

Sorry to hear about your problems by the way but a 5-1 record against parvo is usually pretty unheard of.. definitely some fighters you have there :good:

Thanks again x

No problem. Will keep you and the furbaby in my Ts&Ps.

What amazed me the most about the parvo was that the vaccinated older pup got the sickest and required the most intense treatment. The vet didn't even know what the lil unvaccinated guys even HAD until she got sick, too. Well, I say it amazed me, but due to my experiences with my kids, both 2 and 4 legged, and the research I've read while dealing with the aftermath, I've sworn off vaccines completely. This was just more icing on the cake.
