Can you get a double stand and put the 10gal aquarium under the 60 gallon? Then you would also have space left over you could use for a shelf.

I’m going to play devils advocate now. The feeder fish is raised to be thrown in a glass box with a predator who will eat it whole or in pieces. The carnival folks may feel they bought its freedom and a chance at survival, which they did, but the damage was done in the inbreeding and careless...

That would be nice but I’m not sure the carnival mentality cares. It’s a different world to make a fast buck and move on.

Thank you for the compliment. For the snails, is hardness more important than pH? I’m looking for a more appropriate home for the loach. Taking it back to the LFS could make its life worse. Maybe adding distilled water now and then?

We are a strange group, aren’t we? We can get kits but they charge so much for mostly cheap things that need to be replaced or tossed out.

I have an Inkbird heater controller. You plug the heaters into it and it controls power to them by its own thermostat, prevents runaway heaters. I had one of those too, caught it before losing fish but it set the plants back significantly.
