You must consider filtration and current. Over filtration is not a bad thing....however strong current is not appropriate for some fish. If your current is too strong, you can use a spray bar or you can position the flow output on the glass.

The nitrite will go down to 0. You have a nitrite spike because nitrite are not processed yet by the bacteria. Wait a few days and the nitrite will go down. You're doing good. :good:

You don't need to double the length. Treat the tank until there's no more ich on any fish. Hopefully, one week should be long enough. If you have carbon in your filter, make sure to remove it because treating. :)
