My New Tiger Barbs

nice fish!

i really love barbs, got some rosys that seem really active and sociable.

i want some tigers now!!! -_-

What a FAB picture Zoe! Your tank looks lovely and the barbs are adorable! Glad you seem to have sorted all the problems with your tank out! GRJ :D

Thanks GRJ and Heather. Yea all sorted. Had no show of Nitrite which i found really strange. But who cares i am cycled :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I am going to change my 4 foot tank to a tigerbarb tank also. Just waiting for that cycle to complete. Nitrite 0.50 ammonia 0. Hopefully not long to go.

Zoe :D

hi
gorgeous baby barbs, i love them when theyre teeny they do all the 'barbish' things but at a much faster speed, have you seen them have any little nose to nose scraps yet?? hillarious!

its very hard to tell male barbs from females when theyre small when they mature you will find that the females have much rounder deeper bellies when viewed side on, from the back they also tend to be wider across the middle as well, the males tend to be more 'arrow' shaped from the side and if your looking from the back much narrower across. males tend to have much brighter orange noses when mature as well although we have had females with quitebright noses. if you see a male & a female next to each other it is easy to tell, i know thats not too much help at the moment. we have 2 mature green tigers & 2 mature stripey tigers at the mo but theyre all females, our old male died recently. we also have a baby green & a baby stripey, but i'll see if i can fish out some pictures of old tigers weve had over the years to show you the difference between the sexes asap
great fish!!!
