They actually look identical to mine when I first got them, the darker one stayed the same, mostly brown, and the light one went almost totally orange apart from the fins.So will be interesting to see how yours go
I would go the home made fermentation route, and spend the extra cash on plants.Do you have any idea how long moss takes to take hold on rocks etc? I'm a newbie with moss :S lol
Edit,tank is looking great btw
I think I found the hiding spot,a little hollow on the backside of my bogwood, not gonna disturb it until I can make a more viewable hidey hole for them.I've seen 3 at the same time,so I'm hoping they all get more outgoing without me changing things too much.
This brings back memories of 2 little squirts in my 6 footer with only a little plec and a pair of convicts for company, the convicts were bigger than the oscars, for a little bit anyway........... No Paul you want a planted tank!!!
Good mornin Shelagh.I'm glad the kids are doin well lol :D I hope you're still gettin pics of them?will be great seeing them grow up.I can live vicariously thru you until I win the lottery and get that 20ft tank with all the giant amazonian fishies! lol x
Green neons if you can find them are great, lively and different color depending on where they are in the tank.I'm gonna try for a HUGE shoal 60+ when I get my big tank running again
I put 9 in my planted tank, and occasionally see 1 or 2 :( are they escape artists?experts at hiding?
Nothing in the tank is big enough to have eaten them, and I haven't found any corpses in the tank or filter
Yeah I guess I'm old fashioned on the heater, was always "Put it as centrally as possible" lol
I'll get on that later,it seems to be playtime in there at the mo , even the miserable pearl gouramis are joining in lmao
Maybe the goldfish which are not tropical carried some disease that the others weren't able to fight off,if you want tropical then rehome them and start over. Also you added MUCH too many fish at once.
Welcome btw
My first real attempt at aquascaping, tips and advice will be welcomed
Looks a little bare at the front, moss on order, and I'm hoping the swords will fill out the left side.
