What are you doing today?

Yesterday after a long hot day cleaning a pond I researched the NIH and any other technical medical site I could find on B12 and anemia, food sources for B12, whether an injection would be a good idea. Nowhere did I find working in the heat depletes B12 but I am suspicious, last year was the 2nd hottest year in Texas history and although we knocked off at 1 pm, I was working in the heat half of May, a little in June and 3 weeks in July. And I got thrombocytopenia - low platelets - that only responded when I started consuming B12. Got all the up to 73K before it got hot again, down to 31K this week. I will be getting some clams and learning to cook them, they are the apex natural B12 source. Followed by chicken liver. I need a new chicken liver recipe, Chicken Express burned them yesterday and picking off breading isn't fun. I do have a defective Mthfr gene, btw. I'm also taking methyl folate with a lot of methyl B12 but food seems to work better
I hope you are on the mend soon, Alice. (I heavily edited my post above; see if you still "like" it)

Have you seen the new Planet of the Apes movies? I caught War for the Planet of the Apes with my daughter and grandkids last week. Indeed a virus can reshape the world
Not seen it yet, looking forward to it. Love me a bit of apey hijinx

Just received a decal set of Harley Davidson stickers for when I get my trike from a member of my computer help forums. I think he went just a bit overboard and even sent a hat... LOL! I guess he appreciates the help I've given. ;)

You need to get a nice leather jacket with "Heaven's Devils" embroidered on the back of it.

LOL! Funny thing is that I've never even owned a Harley. All my scooters were Honda.

Didn't notice that there even more stickers on the flip side of the larger sticker pack. Yep, a bit of overkill. ;)

I'm being ticked off by Spectrum/Charter cable! It is back to fine now but I was trying to watch the college baseball world series finals game one and it was all messed up due to cable issues. Missed most of the first inning as it just was not watchable and missed Texas A&M going up 2-0 over Tennessee. All I was able to get even streaming the game was a wireless connection of only like 15 Mb/sec which resulted in a REALLY poor video.

I REALLY need to quit procrastinating and get rid of Spectrum/Charter and go with an antenna for local channels and Century Link for internet and phone doing all other videos by streaming which I already do with HBO Max, Prime Video, Paramount, Disney and Peacock. Might even consider Roku for local channels and more stuff. With Roku I MAY even be able to lose a current stream or two...

On the really down side I'm having issues with my messed up eye. It is clamped shut and bothersome. Due to a military trauma I have glaucoma in that eye and am allergic to all such meds. Not super painful or anything but like an ache that is REALLY irritating. Gonna pop a few naproxen tabs which help. Even though an over the counter med they really help as they are a good anti inflammatory which helps with the high internal pressure in the eye.

I dropped cable about 7 years ago and don't miss it at all. I pay $25 a month for internet. I get 45 channels via antenna. I sometimes subscribe to a streaming service like Peacock or Paramount. If there is a sports tournament that I must watch (which is infrequent) I can sign up for Sling TV at $40 a month. If there is a recent movie that I want to see, I might pay $5 to stream it. I figure that dropping cable has saved me more than $10,000 over the last 7 years.
