Tina's Twin Bommies

Thanks Ski.

Yeah, I know about the aggressiveness. It is the bubble I am most worried about at the moment, it just seems to have grown huge in a short space of time.

I am scouring various internet sites at the moment trying to find a second hand 6ft tank. Whenever I get to a stage where I have so many aggressive corals, I seem to upgrade. The 6ft will be the last though, I will be able to space them much better then.

If it comes down to it, I will have to rearrange the left hand side, hoping to have the 6ft up and running by then though. The Torch is also fragged already so can sell / swap that if needed.

Thanks John'o

Reet Seffie, I am going for the facet joint and sacro illiac joint injections this morning, last ones before they burn them. Consultant wants to do these to make sure he burns the reet nerves come December.

Will be about later, but will be stiff and sore I think.

Oh, but so very worth it, good luck :good:

Thank you Bagu, thats a really nice thing to say.

Seffie this time the pain consultant did the injections and did 4 joints as opposed to the orthopaedic surgeon doing just 2. (2 sacro illiac and 2 facet joints)

The pain consultant used an x ray machine and injected local anaesthetic before injecting the joints.

The pushing was still unpleasant but much much better to have done this way.

At the moment for the first time, I am completely pain free, until the local wears off that is. Once that wears off, the steroids will not have had chance to work yet so there will be a bit more pain than usual until the steroids do their job.

This feels muc much better than the last lot.

It will be these nerves that are burnt using radio frquency in December. I cannot wait now, if it will feel like this it will be heaven.

Yes, it takes a while for the nerves to settle down after being burnt, but then as you say, heaven :good:

Glad it went well today and you are pain free for a while (well pain free from your back)

After a whole day of computer problems, I am finally on line again.

Going to fetch my SPS frags now, will take some piccies later but need to reload the camera software so may be the middle of the night before they are on here.

Tell me about it bagu. PC World are coming out to it on Monday, they are not sure ifts the computer tower or monitor that is the problem.

I have run system recovery twice today and I am not happy that it has wiped my files. Good job I backed up but I still now need to reload all my software

The I managed to snap my little purple Montipora digitata frag before I could get it into the tank

All the others are OK luckily. I did get Montipora hirsuta after all as it got broke so was mounted up for me.

I also got a little frag of LPS. Will wait for the piccies.

Whilst they are all small, they were £5 each and will grow quickly. I am well pleased.

Pictures when I can be bothered to load the software as that requires a restart, I am fed up of that today already.

As with all tecnology, I find computers work better after a kick and being yelled atx, unless they worked first time.... You'd be surprised how often that's worked for me... Mind you, 90% of issues are caused by Microsoft... :p

Now Rabutt that really would not surprise me at all.

If I get beeped off with this thing in between now and PC World coming on Monday, I will try the kicking, although that could be difficult when I cannot even press the accelorator on a car. May be a hammer job

Reet I will now let you what I picked up

Montipora digitata - Purple (that I have fragged by dropping the bag and it breaking)
Montipora digitata - Pink
Montipora hirsuta (Yes Ben I got it )
Montipora - Purple plating
Seratiopora hysterix (the mother colony was to die for)
Seratiopora guttatus
Seratiopora caliendrum.

I then got an LPS, Borneman states it is difficult to keep however the lovely fella I got these from has had great success and is fragging his.

It is a Merulina ampliata of the plating variety. It has a beautiful green fluorescence.

The tank containing the mother colonies was out of this world, a 72x26x24 tank. He showed me a set of Aquarays he has borrowed over the tank and I was astounded by the difference they made. Reef Blue only.

Each frag is about an inch in size, but when you look at the likes of Reefstock who stock some stunners, theres seem only twice the size for four times the money.

Seems a good way to populate with SPS to me and it means I get to grow them in the tank and allow them to grow how I want them to by fragging where necessary.

Just a few pics as only a few have polyps out and the actinics were on.

I must also tell you about how I was told to acclimate them too, Nev said to not bother acclimating them by dripping, he said to expose them to air so that they get a mucus coat and then they would automatically acclimate to the tank over a period of about 12 hrs overnight.

I followed his suggestion and 3 have polyps out already with digis slowly catching up. Nev said he had never lost an SPS this way however when he first bought them he did lose some after lenghty acclimatisation.

Enough waffle anyway.

Montipora hirsuta - You can just see the green polyps appearing nicely.

Seratiopora guttatus on the left, that is glowing red under LED's although is purply under white light, Seratiopora caliendrum on the reet, stunning green polyps on this one, they were out in the bag and did not retract at all whilst being placed. A firm favourite so far.
