Tina's Twin Bommies

FMF going to send another fogspawn next week, APC made complete cock up.

Book not arrived yet but could be sitting at depot.

Will check with tracking number.

Have finally bit the bullet and ordered some SPS frags off a fellow reefer on that site we all use for classifieds. Need to pick those up from Warrington in 3 weeks time.

Lovely pics and sorry to hear about your delivery. I've taken to contacting sorting office here and collecting deliveries in person,lol...Chris is a decent guy and will be only to helpful in these circumstances..
Good luck with the sps frags, several species will do well in your tank Tina if kept high..also monti confusa, digitata, etc should thrive in there.

Adition of activated carbon to your filtration will help sps settle in as it will absorb any chemicals released by your leather,etc..chemical warfare in mixed reefs is unbelievable!!!

Have added carbon from the beginning, read in THE BOOK that if not always used corals can sulk when it is.

Thought APC would be fine, sometimes they are here once a week.

Ordered
S.hysterix pink, S.caliendrum, S.guttatus, Purple digi, pink digi, purple plate and if its ready for fragging M.hirsuta.

Should all do really well at the top and give me some added oomph in that area, spots were reserved for them.

Amazing photos as usual Tina :good: and you have got a hysterix, i'm so jealous .............

Nice to know about fishmans frags service, so sorry for the poor frogspawn though, wonder where he ended up

I have ordered from mailordercorals today. I will let you know how I get on. We will have a nice collection of websites at the rate its going.

I have ordered a 6 headed sun coral, the only thig I have noticed is that the pictures on their website (which the cost for the 6 head was £8.99) is exactly the same one on ebay... & due to bidding they are more expensive... so worth looking around before buying on fleabay.

Also order a hairy mushroom.

Tank looks awesome TI :)

Still have the Sea Hare? Any troubles with him bulldozing rocks/corals, or any troubles with him and powerheads?

Still got the sea hare Ski, he has not done any bull dozing at all, have swapped my powerheads, no problems with those at all. He does not walk over corals either, seems a really good guy.

Have supplemeted his tank algae intake with seaweed which my blenny and my wrasse seem to love too. The starfish has gone over some corals, they don't seem to mind and expand fully once the star has moved on. They are both doing really well. :good:

I got up Sunday morning to find a really sad sight, my Mandarin just was not fat enough when I bought him and I lost him. :rip:

Lesson learnt, they need to be really fat.

On Sunday we went to the Midlands for the Grandfather in-laws funeral yesterday. On Sunday Andrew wheeled me round Hollybush Aquatics. I found a stunning much larger and much fatter Mandarin. I watched it eat frozen and was told it was female. Can't see tat close from a wheelchair into the top tank.

I reserved it to collect last night and managed to transport it overnight by opening the bag and changing water that they gave me for the purpose. It also hada hot water bottle (not too hot) in the box with it.

After getting it home, I am convinced it is male, I have even checked Trod's picture to compare against her female, I am convinced it is male. As soon as released into the tank this morning he has explored a much greater area of rockand has been actively seeking the pods in the tank. I am much more optimistic about this one. I am waiting until I can get a photo to confirm sex but the name will either be Cleopatra or Caesar.

Sorry I have no photo, after the long journey, I do not want to stress it out.

We also bought the ceiling paint so we are nearly there to having everything ready to start the decoration.

im so sorry for your loss =[ im sure it wasn't your fault. glad to hear you got a new andy though  ill be looking forward to pics when you can get them =] no rush :)

Males are normally larger and more robust. They are also more colouful and only males have the high dorsal extension..hope he does well for you.
