UPDATE: Server changed and picture moved.

Calm down guys.

I agree with you Andy there are two types of car - performance and show. Im guessing going to car shows and polishing your car all day isnt really your cup of tea, its not mine either, im happiest on track but to some people its what they enjoy and get a buzz from. I think to be a true car enthusiast you've got to appeciate everything even if its not to your taste - it might be a saxo with a pile of fibreglass to you but its someones pride and joy that a lot of work has gone into and they're proud of it. B) Each to their own...

Ice Maiden your car looks cool. Love the colour and the window tints are well smart.

The 200sx is very tidy too. :)

Post another pic of mine. Hehe :p

If one carefully looks back, I made a light hearted comment about a car belonging to someone I know fairly well on this forum and others jumped down my throat. Not once have I said "That car is a chav's car, I hate it". In fact I purposefully ignored commenting on those cars, knowing the response that the "modders" would have.

And to be honest, a lot of the modded cars are downright illegal (not just on smaller things like numberplates, but like thoses that have tints on the front 3 windows).

ice maiden your car does look chaved up with Illigel blue tinting your not alould tits past the b coulm

i love my dads bmw 330D as every one thinks as its a disel its slow but its only slightly slower then an M3 and is faster round bends

your not alould tits past the b coulm

Not true. You are allowed them but they have to let a certain % of light through or they are illegal.

we had a masive problem with BMW when we got kierans mini as it had full back titnting they evan said i was illigel and they wanted up to sign a disclamer to have the car in the end we got them to take it off what saved so much effort as it was in the glass lol

Well this is my boyfriends car

Almost all of cars are made with tints already on the windows. This is usually at just below the current maximum tint allowed by law. Putting pretty much any sort of tint on to the front side windows or front windscreen will push you past the legal limit.

Suppose it depends on the car. We both have MR2's, we can put 70% on the front windows and be perfectly legal. Anything over that we will get asked to remove it. You probably knew that. ;)

If you put tint on the front windscreen your daft, ive never seen this done. I personally dont like front side window tints because i want full access out them and full view of my mirrors. I take my car on track and the thought i might not see something because of tints isnt worth thinking about. But hey they look good and if people stay within the law I dont see why they cant have them. :fun:

lol....I really am not bothered who thinks my car is a chavs car.....its my hobby......

as for the person saying tints on front windows are illegal...u havent a clue what you are on about....my front tints are lighter than the rear, and are below the allowed 30% so nothing illegal about them.....

modifying your car is all down to personal preferance.......

As for track days I love em....took the car round silverstone last september....what a buzz!!!!

Ok, Im in the Uk but we own two American Cars (Maybe 3 soon) and a shopping trolley....lol

So this is my everyday car (shopping trolley). Its a Skoda Octavia vRS 1.8 Turbo petrol 180bhp car

(Well its something like this one....and thats not me...lol)

Then we get to my little runabout/project.......

Its a Pontiac Fiero GT....... And used to have a girly 2.8 V6 engine in it..... My husband has spent many hours(read as nearly a year) bolting in a 5.7L Chevy V8 which has 400bhp and 450lbft of torque :hey:
Here's a pic of the car....and the engine.....

Donna that firebid is absolutely spectacular. Can you tell us any more about it? I'm a big fan of the cars (I've got a firebird tattoo if that's any measure...) and I've suffered to only ever seeing 4 in real life :( I'm into the typical 79 bandit model but there are no models I dislike.

Wrong way round.

Check out this leaflet from the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency. tinted windows legislation. This states a window must ALLOW 70% of light through the side windows and 75% through the front windscreen. Therefore if your tints are 31% or above (36% on cars first used before 1 April 1985) then you are breaking the law and can be told to remove them.

*Edit: IceMaiden, if you really don't care who thinks your car looks chavvy, why the hell did you bash me for what I said about other cars looking chavvy?
