a very crude planting plan

Paint is fun to play with. I've noticed, though that by placing the red plant at the opposite end of the rocks, that you've created two strong focal points. Tanks should really have one. If they do have to, the focal points have to complement each other, which yours do not. Just my two cents, otherwise, has the makings of a strong layout. The wood horns will soften with plants. You're going to attach mosses, right?

yeah gonna have moss and i know what you mean never thought of that probably just leave the lotus out then thanks for that

hmm just thought maybe if i put the lotus behind the wood that may look good any opinions

thats what i was gonna suggest, right at the back, slap bang in the middle of the hardscape.

ok lotus is back in (bear in mind it wont be that red and the others wont be that green lol)

Paint is by far the best way of getting ideas across to others with your tank. Few months ago i 'stole' BethK's image from her tank and did a paint job on it to show her how i thought it aught to go. She liked it and implemented it to great effect.

I like how yours is coming along. Those big rounded rocks are different, and very striking. Can't wait to see some actuall progress photos pop up :)

Thats' much, much better. Can't wait to see it planted. :good:

well this has sat on the back burner for abit (lack of funds) but im getting to the stage of ordering plants any one know of any good plant supliers in the uk

www.plantedtanks.co.uk is run by some of the guys over on UKAPS. Simply put they are brilliant, and give you exactly what you want, for IMO a good price, with no hassle.

www.aquaessentials.co.uk is also a very good site i use. Never had any issues with them and the same as above can be mentioned here also.

Looking forward to seeing the progress on this, as i said back in January :) Haha

has anyone got any ideas for carpet plants

i ordered Glossostigma elatinoides on a whim

and got a email saying they had none in stock (probably for the better considering its requirements)

so are there any suetable for my tank that looks similar too Glossostigma elatinoides (unless this will live wich i doubt  )

What are the current specs of your tank? lighting, co2 etc?

eleocharis parvula might be suitable, you have to be patient with it though. maybe HC?
