Fluval Vicenza 180

Cheers buddy. Any idea on the Rasbora's yet? I tried to get you a couple of decent shots.

As for the cabomba... yeah i know what you mean. Unsure of what will grow and what won't now i have started dosing ferts. Just hope they do better than usual now i have a bit more of an idea about stuff.

Did you decide on what % water changes you're going to do?!

Pretty sure they're regular Harleys.Look too big for either T.species.
Got my cabomba to last couple of months, grew really well, then just melted from the bottom up.Seems to be standard form.
Been dosing excel & profito for 10 days or so to try and clear up algae issues.standard advise when using carbon substitute seems to be 50% change (increased plant metabolic rate, blah, blah)
removed all algae leaves, did water change, and i swear the algae seems to have got worse overnight. Now i don't know whether to up ferts or carbon or both now.
As daft as it seems, things seem to have got worse not better since i moved from T5's to T8's. one step forward, 3 back.
hope it works out for you.Keep asking the % question, somebody will get an answer to you.
Almost got you to put kettle on, i was up your way today.Alfreton- never been called 'Duck' before!

 Should have done mate, only a couple of miles away!! Why was that?

I'm not dosing carbon in this tank, just the cocaine looking fert. lol.

Thanks for the i.d. on the HR's, they're showing real quality now they have settled in. They seem to be geting redder and redder. And for what reason would the cabomba melt after a few months?

Also, in my 55 litre that has excel and tpn+ i have no algae what so ever... as in, not a single thing! But i have a few shrimp, 3 apple snails and a young Bristlenose for the time being?!

That IMO is one of the nicest planted/community set-ups i've seen. Really natural/clean/healthy looking and love how the wood is the main part that catches your eye and makes you look a little closer each time to discover nice plants and fish. Good job that mate should be proud :good:

Thankyou so much, that is a really nice thing to say! :)

Stu... Duck is pretty standard literature around these parts.

As for excel and tpn+, i am dosing 1.5ml and 2.75ml respectively. Things seem to be doing well too which is always a bonus.

As I said to James in his journal, cabomba is a cold water plant - it doesn't really like tropical tanks and tends not to do well in them. But is great in goldfish tanks...

Really? Thanks caz. May move it to the Cory fry tank then as it is running slightly cooler? Although there is not ferts and probably not enough fish waste to keep it going?!

i didnt bother with a heater in my bronze fry tank, really no need for it so cabomba would be fine :D horrible plant that it is ! :D

:dunno: you could try it... I've never kept it as I don't actually like it as a plant!

What's the worst that could happen?! It'll disintegrate like it probably would in your tropical tank...!

Hmmm... maybe risky then in case it wrecks the water then... :/

I'll just leave it where it is then remove it as and when. :p

And Tizer, temperature is around 22-23 for the cory tank, i don't think i have seen the heater on in the tank, but it's just there as a precaution. Flogged any yet?!

nar, given about 25 away mate, 25 left. few friends in work want some so will shift em all soon when they have their tanks sorted. odd, coz i didnt realise until yesterday about 3 of the guys keep fish. :D useful too.

Tank has had a change round as I had to take everything out to catch some fish. So now there is a chunk of the weeping moss missing and its no where near as nice as it was before. On the upside I have added some more vallis kindly sent to me by aqua tom which should look great if it grows! Fertiliser is going well so far, the moss is definately growing better and quicker since the addition.
Harlequins are really settling in now and colouring up better each day...

The tank stocking has changed quite a lot and it does appear to be fairly empty now... :/

Current stocking is

1 Ellioti
10 Harlequin Rasbora
3 Bronze Corydoras
4 or 5 Juvenile Bristlenoses

And thats it.

Unsure exactly where to go from here... Will up the Bronze Cory numbers to 8 when my babies have grown on for a month or 3, but after that i am stumped. Do i add another species? Do i up the numbers of the HR's to something like 14? The tank does look empty now. Would like some neons or something similar, but everytime i add these, most of them just die off within a week... So don't fancy wasting cash on them.

HELP!!!
