Fluval Vicenza 180

Thanks. The plants look healthy because most of them are new. I'm sure once they have been under my care for a few week they will start to show the signs

The weeping moss on the wood will be added further along once it is ready for a trim. It is the weeping Ferrei moss, so pretty expensive just to go and buy a load from the LFS. I have some spare christmas moss that i can add further along?!

Apart from the one piece of Mopani wood that you can see with the anubias and java fern on everything else has been collected from the woods as i am a tight ar...

Will also be doing 25% twice weekly water changes.

Any other pointers?

Looking good mate, it's starting to get a jungle feel about it. :good:

re the water changes...are you injecting C02 Minnt, i can't remember?

Nope... just the cheapo fert i linked to. Does it not need 50% water changes then if no co2?

Would love to set up a FE co2 system, just waiting for some bloke called Ian to drop round.

Will get some better photo's tonight when the light is a bit more forgiving.

Do you dose a carbon addition? If so the metabolc rate of the plants is higher, the plants ceate more organic waste. The water changes are to get rid if the organic waste. In a none cabon addition planted tank to many water changes can lead to bba due to the continuous fulctuations in carbon dioxide

So what kind of maintenance schedule would you advise for my setup that is dosing ferts but no carbon?

Starting to look really good mate.Once i get my slight algae issue sorted, i'll be in a similar scenario to you.I'm hoping once a week water changes.25% would be nice but might be more i think.interested to see what the answer is.presuming a regular regime is the key

'40' out.

Right, some new pics of the tank as it stands now. :)

This is looking really, really good. I just checked back to page 1 to see how it used to look and the difference is amazing. It looks literally 100 times better now.
