2ft Cube It’s All About The Motion Of The Ocean

heater wont melt the plastic box, i set mine a lot lower than i do in the main tank too.

Thank for the advice ben :good: but i won’t need the plastic toy box now......
my Gold Label Underwater Pond & Aquarium Seale arrived today from flebay :good: so I promptly set about repairing the weir. It says on the tin that it is aquarium safe and can be used with the fish and corals still in the tank :unsure: , but just to be on the safe side I plugged the hole in the weir tank side with milliput then drained down the weir got a long piece of solid round plastic rod{ my hands are too big and won’t reach down past the duso pipe :rolleyes: } covered the end of it in Gold Label Underwater Pond & Aquarium Seale ran it up the inside of the weir then repeated a good few times creating a nice neat new seal :good: . I am going to leave the weir dry till the weekend then double check that it is 100% water tight and if so then I can start the sump running wish me luck as I need it at the moment :rolleyes: :lol:
Roll on the week end and a dry weir I hope

Added another 15 kilos of live rock today making that a grand total of 27 kilos :good: , then added more RO red sea coral pro water to the tank making it 99% full :good: its now just below the weir over spill i want to leave the silicon for a few days to fully cure before getting the weir wet again. i know it says it will cure under water on the tin :blink: but at least if i do it this way i can monitor for leaks over a few days and putt my mind at rest

I will try to get some pics up at the weekend {need some new rechargeables for the camera 1st}

The tank has cleared this morning and i can see 8 new hermit crabs in there that have come in on the rock there’s also a couple of mushies and a nice piece of gsp so i am well happy with that and i only payed £5 per kilo for it.
I was so lucky really as i had already went half’s with a friend on some rock but he had to let my share go with all the problems i was having getting this thing up and running and he needed the space back. I was gutted with that and all the problems i was having i was very close to just calling it a day and selling the lot. Then i come across the Underwater Pond & Aquarium Sealer, the answer to my night mares, and then this rock turned up on UR and it was only ¼ of mile away from me so with my enthusiasm re lit off i went to pick it up and to be honest i think it’s a lot better quality than the fist lot i got, this little lot has a lovely covering of coralline on it + the free gsp and mushies + hermits,so i am well happy well not 100% happy with the aquascape at the minute but i don’t think you ever are your always wanting to move one piece or another so yep hope fully if all is well i will be firing up the sump tomorrow then i will be ready for lots of corals and fish on Sunday {Fathers' Day}:hey:
:lol:
