this happened to one of my fish before when i found it laying in the bottom of the tank with a hole in its side its probably due to other fish pecking at the dead fish and the fish starts to rot causing the green fungus. i worked at a fish store and found this quite frequently.

ive never known bettas and gouramis to get along very well. and slow moving fish with large fins will be an issue with the betta.

males normally have a longer dorsal fin that comes to a point and depending on the type of gourami there might be slight color differences.

i dont see any problems with adding them to your tank but im usure how mating pairs works. i think your best bet would be 2 Females to one male

id have to say the pearl gourami and the dwarf gouramis are my favorites i used to have a female pearl and she did real well in my community tank. one day im going to get a tank with only gouramis in it. my thick lipped gourami i have now is pretty shy and stays in the corners of the tank.

all good information to have. if theres not enough light you might not get any plants to do real well with the standard light that come with most tanks there are some plants that do well such as anubias and hairgrass. try adding plant food directly into the tank (look at your lfs for it). what...

most lfs sell tank cleaning sponges and usually work really well. make sure you buy the right one because the make one for acrylic and one for glass and if you get the wrong one you could end up scratching the glass or acrylic. completely emptying the tank and washing the gravel is a rookie...

id say angels would be a good idea theyre kinda hard to keep though depending on the water where you live if its too hard they dont do real well

Gourami or discus are realy good additions to a tank. discus have to have a fairly large tank.

you could turn the Ten gallon into a sump or keep it running for quarantine. what size fish tank do u have running? is it freshwater or salt? if you main tank is larger then 75 gallons you might want to use the 75 as a sump and 10 gallon for quaratine.

Stress coat is more for keeping the fish healthy it adds to their slime coat and helps prevent stress it may also do some water conditioning but i would highly recommend aqua plus in combination with amquel i use the two together in my 29 gallon and my tank stays pretty clean. :good:

so ive been doing some tank cleaning for a friend of mine that has a 24 or 28 gallon nano cube but he keeps getting a lot of green hair algae. whats the best way to clean it from the sand and live rock?

no i will still keep gouramis because theyre one of my favorites. ill probably end up keeping pearls more than dwarves though.
