i have a tank roughly 2/3 foot wide and about 1 and half foot tall and long

I prefer catfish and things like clown loach however i dont like the things with massive whiskers and i cant exactly have a fish that growns to big..

any ideas?

everyone says they will grow to big.. but surely they can only grow as big as the tank theyre in??

and i dont like the look of those worm like things lol are there any catfish you know that only grow about 8-12cm?

wrong fish do grow to the size of the tank, but it kills them as their body stops growing but their organs, dont, then there swim bladder gets crushed and it kills them.

look at some of the larger cories
and some smaller plecos

Here's an idea if you like loaches. And Ya Truck is right clowns will grown too big!, they are also a shoaling fish and enjoy a group.

Here is a smaller loach also not snake looking.

Zerba Loach

These guys also like a small group so three or more and they will be more that happy.

Hope that helps! :good: good luck

small loaches are packed full of personality, theyre like cories, but are very playful.

look at adolfi cories, they grow to around 3 inches as do peppered cories

Oh right didnt know that :(

yea those seem ok and so do the cory fish i guess i'll see what fish they have available at the shop tomorrow! :) and you said smaller pleco's do you know the names of any?
because i thought all plecos grew rather big

polkadot loaches are a nice loach. they grow to about 8-10cm and have great patterns/colours but again maybe 3 or more would be ideal. i currently have just 1 but am looking into getting him 2 mates to swim with...... mine also plays with the corys i have sometimes!!!!! :good:

Agree clown loaches grow way too big and if kept in a small tank will stunt the growth and kill them as truck says.

Regarding the plecs, either the bristlenose plec or the pitbull plec should be fine. I'd only recommend 1 in that size tank though as they are large waste producers. Bristlenose plecs are fine to be kept on their own, I'm not sure about the pitbull plecs.

Bristlenose should be fine - one will do. Mine are usually peaceful but do occasionally end up in a quick fight.
