yep he is definetley a male. his fins are much longer now, ive been told he is a cross between a plakat/crowntail

it means Mustard Gas..the original strain was created by some guy, and people started producing bettas of all colors with yellow like mine in their fins and decided to name the strains mustard gas as well..even though a true MG is blue/yellow..or green/yellow i believe..this is only what I have...

Well I picked up a new betta today, he was the only color of his kind where I went and ive never seen a MG in real life so I had to get him. he isnt the prettiest thing but I like his colors and he has a cute personality. I named him Nipper cause when I put him in his new home he started nipping...

ok im bumping this up since 15 ppl looked at it and no one replyed to help me out..i put the cory in a hospital tank with some antibiotics..hope corys are ok with them, he seems to be but still has that bright red blotch on his head..

I was driving home and had to take some pics of the sunset with my new digital camera, it was beautiful..i was in my car so 2 are kinda blurry, but one came out really good aside from my car antenna in the way lol best one: this ones blurry but i like the way it looks

they usually are aggresive to fish like guppies because they mistake there fins for those of other male bettas. if you really want one of the CT's than just get a seperate 2 gallon bowl or something, they should do fine in that.

I bought 2 corys about a month ago and added both to my 10 gallon, and one of them was kind pretty lethargic. I thought he was still adapting to his surroundings but he seems very inactive compared to the other. he seems to swim a bit but a few days ago I realized a red blotch on his forehead...

depends on every walmart, but most of the time they arent well taken care of. I got both my female bettas there when they were very young and they are very healthy now. If they look healthy i say get them if not then dont risk it.

what size tank is he in and with what other fish? if its smaller than a 3 gal with no filter than water changes ever 2 or 3 weeks isnt enough and that could be a reason why hes sick. also if he is sick like that, have you taken him out and into a seperate tank to treat him? i wouldnt suggest...

thank LMO :) I added a few more just now and also some of my moms betta i took when i saw her today. the poor guys fins are so long and crimped though that its hard for him to swim :(

the females look pretty stressed in that first picture with the horizontal stripes..but besides that I would say try breeding them with the male who makes the biggest bubble nest

i dont think i was over the top at all, for someone to just say "bettas" when this post asks what do you think the ugliest fish is, is absurd IMO..so I am voicing my opinion just as the person who said it was ugly did

wow that is exactly what my most recent male looks like, and I got him at petco! I just thought he had a crown tail trait with short fins, but now that I see these pictures that is exactly what he is! awesome, I must breed him to one of my females now that I know they are rare.

that is why you should always research fish before you go ahead and throw them in your tank. Bettas are very aggressive and alot of people dont think they should be in community tanks, especially with guppies because they thing they are other male bettas. I suggest before buying fish and adding...

I actually have the same question because I just set up my 10 gallon and divided it in two for my two bettas and ADF. I have a filter but its on one side and the food cant get pulled through the mesh divider from the other side, so I want to know what kind of sucker fish are good to get. I got 2...
