I have also heard that cardinals are one of the more difficult fish to keep. Fortunately, I have had great success with 7 of mine. :) A fish that I realize after a few attempts that I'm not meant to keep are panda corys. :no:

What is the temperature of the water you are adding? If you are doing a large water change maybe the fish are being stressed by a sudden change in temperature and that is causing ich. :dunno: Are you using water from outside (cold?) or inside (adjustable temp)? I remember in my early days of...

I'm not sure if you are from the US or Canada, but the Red Sea Nano/Azoo Palm (same thing) power filter can be found at PETCO, Big Al's and Dr Foster & Smith.

I think you are talking about spot algae. I have found the only way to remove it is with a little elbow grease :flex: and a soft (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals) scrubbing pad since both of my tanks are made of acrylic.

I used a Azoo Palm Filter/RedSea Nano Filter for a while on a 1 gallon betta container. It does a nice job for quiet water movement but I ultimately found that it was too difficult keeping stable water stats since the container was so small. I also replaced the supplied filters with a sponge cut...

I'll second Seachem Prime. A bottle will go a long way since it only requires 5 mL for each 200 L (50 gallons) of new water.

My BGK was conditioned to swim to the top to be hand fed. Its favorite foods were frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms. When not eating, this ghost house was its favorite place to hang out. :good: It felt secure in it and I was able to get a great view.

This technique removes the air pocket within 30 seconds. You shouldn't have to put up with the noise for hours. :)

As others, mine won't turn their nose to much. I've been feeding them Hikari micro pellets, micro waffers and tropical flake.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I found out the tadpole was collected locally. What you can't see in the picture is that I have a small power filter and a floating plant for when it's ready for it. At this point, its front legs haven't started to grow yet. Does anyone know how long it will take...

I keep it simple (for me). After 24 hours I remove whatever hasn't been eaten. :shout:

I own a Hagen NutraMax2X and believe it works as promised. In my experience, the food release depends on the setting (opening) you gave it. Although I don't use it that often (since I believe fish can go without food for 5+ days), the feeder works correctly. :good:

I recently "inherited" a tadpole and put it in a 1/2 gallon container with a small power filter. It's about a 1/2" long, has a long tail and only small back legs. I'm feeding it a pice of tropical flake food or a tiny pice of algae waffer per day. At this point, I'm not sure when I should add...

I have a <2" ramshorn that that digs frozen lima beans & green peas, fresh red leaf & romain lettuce, as well as fresh brussels spout leafs. FYI: When I put my ramshorn in a tank with crypts, they were destroyed! I think they dig plants?? :devil:

I use Seachem Prime. removes chorine, chloramine and ammonia detoxifies nitrite and nitrate provides slime coat It also uses an incredibly small amount to treat the water: 1 capful (5 mL) for each 50 gallons (200 L).

Another option would be an AquaClear Mini or 150 power filter with a sponge and BioMax media.

I just found out my LFS have 10 gallon tanks on sale for $6.99. I'm going to to pick it up right now. The sick will be fish solo and I'll keep a close eye on the water stats. Corys are my favorite so I don't want to lose it. :no: Thanks

Thank you for the comments Wilder. Unfortunately, I won't be able to puchase any meds until tomorrow. Do you know if it is OK to move the fish into the new tank today if I use media from an established tank?
