I would say no. The puffers would eat everything in sight.

This will really depend on his luck. My friend had a bgn in a malawi tank with mbuna. his was a 30g. The real concern is the water parameters. -_-

If it is just laying there and not swimming around. No. That is one of the first signs it is not doing well. Check your water parameters. It's body looks a little black. I've had this problem before. You gotta check your water. dang, didn't you just get this guy. I hope you have brackish water.

I used to have one. I was fortunate enough to pick out one with a blue hue to his eyes. They aren't too bright though. plus they nip at everything.

I fed mine freeze dried BLOOD worms. you could hear the CRUNCH everytime he bit into one.

O.k,, just wanted to make sure my rope fish was doing o.k. Cause when I saw it at the store there were two in the tank and they were pretty lively And in my tank it mostly seems to hide with some relocation, but never really swiming around the tank.

You can pull off an eel in a Malawi tank. So far I have been quite successful in putting a rope fish, black skirt tetra and 2 gouramis and a red claw crab and a shrimp in my malawi tank. Yes this is all despite common guideline. You just gotta know how to do it and honestly the Mbuna will leave...

A 350 will not do the job on a 55. Bio wheel or not. It would be fine if the tank was lightly stocked. The 350 is not a good stand alone filter. It is however an excellent water polisher due to the micron filter. For a 55 I would recommend an Emp 400 or a Filstar XP3. For the price of the XP3...

I had the same problem with my penguin mini after 2 months use. The wheel would spin, but the water flow was not enough to move it. By that time I had gotten a emp 400 and threw the mini to the closet. I never really figured what was wrong with it :/

I just picked up a butterfly today. So far my cichlids leave it alone. And so far it has not jumped. I did remove the lid for a while today to clean the tank too. My tank is not 100% sealed, but it won't be able to jump through those small openings.
