canister filters?

I love my fluval filter. Had it for around 4 years now.

yep, i definitly recommend eheim. I use the Eheim 2213 classic for my 55 gallon and it works perfectly! :)

Gotta love the Magnum350 or the 350 Pro with bio wheels! I have one on a 37 gallon tank and it works spectacular as long as im not to lazy to let it go 3 months without cleaning, but even then still works like a champ.

350 is way overdoing it for a 37 too, would do a 55 with no problem. Cheaper than eheims also. However you cant go wrong with one of those if you have the coinage!

I've got a Fluval 2 plus (internal) cannister filter & it works great!
The cannister filters come in internal (in your tank) and external; fluval makes both & choice just depends on your tank setup.

I have the Filstar XP1 by rena. It's a great filter. Very quiet, easy to clean and pretty inexpensive.

A 350 will not do the job on a 55.
Bio wheel or not.
It would be fine if the tank was lightly stocked.
The 350 is not a good stand alone filter.
It is however an excellent water polisher due to the micron filter.
For a 55 I would recommend an Emp 400 or a Filstar XP3.
For the price of the XP3 you can snag 2 emp 400's.
The Xp3 offers alot of options in media and has a good flow rate, especially after a few modifictaions.
I modded my XP3 and increased the flow.
on my 55 I have a emp 400 and the XP3.
Does an really good job.
On top of that the Micron filter has to be replaced every couple of days cause it clogs up. (which is good cause it is doing it's job)
But Some people find it difficult to prime and i for one would not want to battle priming every couple of days.
My XP3 primes itself.
Plug and go.

I just bought one of those for a new 20 gallon that I'm setting up. I'm happy to hear that it works for your 20 as well!

I also recommend the XP3 for a 55 gallon. This canister filter has worked great for my 55g.

Eheim - nothing else comes close.

Got to be a Eheim :p

I just recently got the New Eheim Aquaball 2210 Internal Filter for my 20Gallon It does a Fantasic Job I would recommand a Eheim to anyone..

:)

ehiem, its all i use.
one of my ehiems i bought second hand and it was 10 years old when i got it, ive had it about 4 years and ive never needed a new part except for an 'O' ring . ehiems will go on for ever if you look after it properly.
almost all over external filters are based around ehiems
and fluval 2 plus and filstars are not cannister filters, they are internal filters
