I had nothing but trouble with my record 70 and 90 and took the filters out of both of them and replaced Rena filters instead that took up way less room too

I Wouldnt clean it with bleech Try maybe just soapy water once, then a second and third time with regular water to wash off any traces of soap

Try using metal polish like brasso/etc to remove the scratch, polish the area hard for about 1 minute, you'll have to empty the tank though

Did you actually open up the pump and remove slime from the propeller? You can indeed remove it completely, I done it with my record 70 and replaced it with a rena internal pump/filter I removed it by cutting the silicone holding the box on with a blade

My tank measures 48inches x 24inches x 24inches I think thats about 500litres My question is how much live rock should I use? I plan to have a sump with a deltec 600 skimmer and live sand. I'll also be investing in a RO unit, any recommendations? not to costly either!
