Jewel Rekord 96 Filter

My filter seems to be running really slow,the water movement is not very much
at all.(i've cleaned it, and it's the same)
My question is...would i be able to remove it and replace it with something else,
and if i could, what filter would be best.

Did you actually open up the pump and remove slime from the propeller?

You can indeed remove it completely, I done it with my record 70 and replaced it with a rena internal pump/filter
I removed it by cutting the silicone holding the box on with a blade

umm i have not touched the impeller at all,
maybe i'm a complete numptie and should have checked it out.
i only washed out the sponges.
guess i know what i'm doing tomorrow.
i do have two air stones on,will that help at all ?

i had a jewel 96l if u clean the impeller u should have no probs with it
