Im in the middle of plumbing my new marine tank and sump but need to make a durso to go in the Weir. Ive read the website for the Durso Standpipe to see if I can make my own but cant find the angled piece called the street ell? A 90 corner piece is too big.

Any advice would be appreciated! And im in the UK.

Thanks!! :)

Try this page for a 45degree angle

but I intend using a 90degree elbow like on www.dursostandpipes.com

I just took a normal elbow and a normal t section and cut them down. You can normally cut about a half inch off of each without any problems.

Hi andy, How wide is your weir? mine is 5 inch square and the pipe is 32mm should that be ok?

Will have a go when I get in! :good:

That one isnt a normal 90, its called a street ell??? dont know where you get them.

Over here in the states they are extremely common. Its typically called a street elbow or a street 90. It is a male slip on one end and a female on the other. If you have any dedicated plumbing supply houses I would start there. You may be able to find them on ebay or ask at a LFS if they know where to get them.

Its ok managed to sort it last night just need to put a cap on top with the air hole & a filter on the inlet :hey:

You can also do an in-line Stockman drain silencer. It involves using a 1.5" standpipe with a 2" coupling that is capped and drilled. Here's a link with pictures.
