Oh nice!! Wishing you luck man! I'm sure you'll do great!!
Make sure to give those curly tails a small twitch here and there when you reel them in πŸ˜‰
Or even better, if you know there's not many snags, bounce it off the bottom!
Thank you! The last thing I want to happen is me cutting the line or losing a soft lure  Will take my time with it for sure

While I always hope that doesn't happen, it WILL happen eventually. It's inevitable unless you have like 100% amazing luck 24/7 LOL.

But when it does happen, don't cut the line instantly. First, always start by giving the rod quick jerks to get it out. Not big enough jerks to snap your rod though lol.
Second thing to do, tighten your drag, put both hands on the pole, pulling the pole with the line going completely straight through the eyelets. There should be no bend to the rod when doing this.
That will at least prevent you from littering wherever you're fishing with a lot of line. When you cut it, it can 1, waste a lot of line, and 2 be harmful to the ecosystem.

Also look into how to do the Palomar knot!! It's SUPER easy and it IS the STRONGEST knot. That is proven

Losing some lures is part of the game--you can't let it bother you too much. When I fly fish, I consider it a successful day if I catch more fish than I lose flies! 🎣

I am directing a first grade concert tonight, and rehearsing this afternoon, with around 80 of the little tricycle motors. Trouble is, I feel TERRIBLE today. I was up most of the night with a bad headache and nausea, and it has only let up slightly. I would probably go home if it weren't for the concert. I just fortified myself with some elk roast and a strong cup of coffee, so hopefully those superpowers will be kicking in any moment now...

So true! πŸ˜‚

Sorry you're sick! That sounds pretty awful!
Hope you feel better soon!!

Headaches are no fun in any line of work, but possibly even less in mine. 😱 Thanks for any good wishes, prayers, calm thoughts, or huge bottles of ibuprofen sent out my way...

πŸ’ŠπŸ’ŠπŸ’Š But I suspect you're going to need something strongerπŸ₯ƒπŸ₯ƒπŸ₯ƒ and earplugs! Sounds like a migraine? They're the stinkiest and hairiest armpits of all the armpits and I hope it leaves you alone long enough to get you through your cacophony concert

Migraines are wonderful πŸ₯°

(I get multiple a week and I hate them with a burning passion πŸ˜‚)

Grade one headaches with first grade singers. What a combination.

When I was a kid, I lost a lure I really liked. We were casting into a large shoal of yellow perch, and reeling in more than 40 catch and release fish each in maybe 90 minutes, when I got a serious tug. I had caught a northern pike, a very large one. I got him close enough to the boat to see him, and he was big. But then he was a one that got away.

My friends who fish in the north of England seem to have a very different experience.

Now I drift by walleye and smallmouth bass (as well as Fundulus killies) in my kayak, and enjoy that as much as catching them. Half the fun of fishing was guessing where to cast for non shoalers - looking at habitat. I'm doing the same thing now, without hooks. Or I will be when the ice is off the lakes and rivers.

My father who is Brazilian but now lives in the United States has some American accent with his English.

In the case of anyone living in Palm Beach County, he is an electrician (brilliant) and has a business. You can check the Instagram page named TechVolt. Please, no scam, okay?

Drawing that I finished today (maybe one day I show to the "muse"):

I cannot imagine dealing with that. Years ago, I got migraines pretty regularly. would wake up with them. On several occasions I would have to pull off the road on the way to work and throw up.

Finally I went to the Dr and they gave me Imitrex shots- they were like miracles, but - weirdest thing - I could not bring myself to give myself the shot even though it was just one of those push-button spring loaded things. Anyway, once I got the shot, I'd feel worse for 30 minutes and then like magic the headache would disappear. The only problem then would be that i was totally exhausted.

Turned out I had sleep apnea and high blood pressure all at once. Once I got those addressed, I almost never had another. Thank goodness.

Oh man, that sucks... I'm sorry...

Maybe I'll look into those later in life. They sound like life savers LOL πŸ˜†

Yeah, it would be worth me trying to get to the root cause. I know theres a few factors most likely playing a role...
Today I had to take an excedrin... again...
They work most of the time.

I used to get migraines, both during puberty & later from smells/allergies. I remember being in a large dept. store & smelling red licorice from 50ft away. Puking or a nap in a dark room often helped. Maybe there's a good side to aging? I don't get them anymore, knock wood, or maybe our drier climate now in CA? I still have allergies, something is always in flower, but no migraines
