There's nothing like diversity for accents than here in the UK, travel an hour in any direction and you'll find a different dialect. Personally I love the northern accents and find them much warmer and more appealing than the southern accents
Same here. :) Just more distance before it becomes obvious. That sort of makes sense as the U.S. is MUCH larger than the UK so there are wider areas with the same dialect, or close enough, to really not matter..

Still; let's consider a person in a "deep South" community that is mostly populated born and bred in the town. Now consider the same person born and bred in the Bronx, a borough of New York City, Put them together and is is VERY likely that they would have issues with trying to have a complicated conversation.

Im gonna attempt fishing for the first time ever in a few weeks. Bought some cheap soft plastics and line with a rod on its way in the mail. I haven't done a lot of reading into fishing but I hope I've got everything I need to catch some perch or anything else that bites  .

Are you going to fish a river, lake, stream, bay or ocean? Or maybe one of your tanks! 😜

River first and if it goes successfully, on to lake and if not successful I'll attempt to catch anything in my tanks ;)

I'll wager that if we all met in person to talk, the only person who would be clear and have no accent would be me.

Okay, maybe not.
When I was a kid, there were recognizable neighbourhood and social class accents. The Mohawk kids had a distinct accent based on their native language, and there was a difference between Quebecois and Acadian speakers in anglais. The Italians, Greeks, Vietnamese, Chinese, Finns and other put their spin on things too.

Now, fishing... you guys would enjoy that around here. Fish are like languages - lots of local diversity.

Looks like great baits for crappie or bluegill species in muddy/tannin stained waters!

Good luck! I would advise ditching all the plastic baits and finding some good, old fashioned worms. Most consistently reliable bait there is.

When I went to the Scottish highlands, it took about a week before I could understand what people were saying. When I called home, my parents laughed because I was starting to talk like a highlander, without even realizing it. It's good to get completely away from one's people, sometimes.

For the first time fishing that's always a good way to start, but it sounds like he jas experience... He just hasn't been fishing in a few weeks. So he'll probably do fine if he finds the fish and uses them right!

Never done rod and reel fishing sadly . Have many hours of crab and a little hand line fishing under my belt which will help a little (I think). The species that live in the river im going to are Barbel, Chub, Dace, Perch, Pike & Grayling, all the usual species found in most UK rivers.

Thanks! It will be a while, the rod I ordered sadly won't be coming till early March. My patience is wearing thin

Will definitely try them! I might go for some cheese and bread too

Oh nice!! Wishing you luck man! I'm sure you'll do great!!
Make sure to give those curly tails a small twitch here and there when you reel them in 😉
Or even better, if you know there's not many snags, bounce it off the bottom!
