Don't know how long to keep isolated but I'd keep the tank fairly dark and increase the light gradually. Think about it. If living in the filter it has probably spent its whole life in the dark and its eyes may be pretty light sensitive.
yeah you have a point. there wouldn't have been any light because the canister is down in the closed door cabinet.
it's just a good thing it caught my eye when I pulled it out because if I took it outside and cleaned it I never would have known it was in there and it would have surely have been killed.

Congrats on you cory fry! Good save!

I tested out my new little canister vacuum cleaner after my old 1 died. Super suction!! Able to get my long hair & lots of dust up...& my area rugs too, lol. I need to pace myself, it's almost an Olympic sport at my house.

Looking at using a bit of my fish-tank money to sponsor a family of orphan girls in Nepal. Pretty serious situation for six sisters. Mom died; dad isn't able to care for them, and traffickers are active in the area. I can only do a little, and there are situations like this all over the world... but every bit helps.

At work, we're getting ready for our second annual "Bring a Grownup to Music Class Day." Pretty high-energy week, and less-than-great sleep lately. I'll be drinking some extra tea today. :)

I've been around some projects that paid for the education of the daughters of aquarium trade fishers in coastal Africa. The sons were being covered by the families, but not the girls. Education is the investment that keeps going, and maybe these now young women will make things happen and cause changes for the better. Or not.
The numbers are so small, but then again, I'm only one person and I like my life. If we help one person like theirs, it is better than buying a yacht (or in my case, a rowboat).

...or in my case, a bigger tank. :) Yep, sometimes a little help can really turn things around for someone.

Just finished doing some water changes...

Well , I bit the bullet . Put in an order to Jehmco . I’m going to put all my aquariums on one central air pump . No more individual pumps . No more mess of plug ins and full electrical outlets . Now to rethink my Killifish as far as heating goes . I’d really like to lose at least 6 or 8 of my heaters .

It’s not the prettiest tank but it’s a betta paradise. Filled with Indian almond leaves, frogbit and hornwort it is a prime betta paradise mimicking the natural habitats of bettas. Plus it has a heater
