Just came home from our Poecilia meeting…
Fred Poeser drove me and Michael Kempkes to our homes…
And I’ve got new purchases… What else…?

This is the coldest day I've felt since I moved here. It isn't the -45 I've been in in the past, but a solid bright sunny -30 in the wind. We have the herd of local deer huddling, sitting in the cedars beyond the fishroom, and the gulls are on the icy sea, because it's warmer than the air. I took the dog out this morning and even she wanted to get back indoors quickly.

Welp, I'm 99% certain my new tank has a leak.. It's a very small leak but I'm not taking any chances. I've ordered some silicone and a glass-cutting tool to repair it. Sadly I will have to take a couple of centeremeters off two of the panels from chippings. I will follow Tanner's IKEA tutorial from SerpaDesign.

Question, if two sides of the aquarium are taller than the other two would that compromise the aquariums rigidity?

I am going to hear Haydn’s oratorio, The Creation sponsored by The Back to Bach organization. The John Milton poem will be sung in English. The Back to Bach series showcases Baroque and Classical era compositions.

No warranty?

That is the main reason I don’t purchase used tanks.

Today I drove 2 hours each way and delivered pups to the foster for the rescue. I love those pups, but I cannot keep them here right now with my senior dogs and too many dogs and I still work, didn't get to retire, busy season coming. So I am sad, but they are adjusting well and they are young and should be easy to find adopters for and they are so cuddly and lovable. And that was my day. Texas is a big state, foster met me half way. i did save their lives by keeping them out of the shelter when they were unvaccinated. My dogs are vaccinated so they just stayed here and got shots and gave the shots a couple weeks to work. So many pups go into the shelter without vaccines and so many adult dogs that are sick are already there.

I'm going to miss this page 666 when it turns over. It's been very heavy metal here with this.

going through my computer files and looked at the Filter Cleaning Dates and saw it's been 5 months and seeing how it's February and 70deg outside I decided to do that while I had the weather.
removed the canister and I thought I saw movement in it. sure enough there was a little cory fish that had been growing in it.
I guess the Pleco cat had loosed and egg on the glass and it wound up going through the intake and into the canister. Whoop Whoop!
it's about 3/4 inch long. I put it into my small hospital tank. how large should it be to fend for itself in the community peaceful tank, only cory I ever purchased were full size.

Don't know how long to keep isolated but I'd keep the tank fairly dark and increase the light gradually. Think about it. If living in the filter it has probably spent its whole life in the dark and its eyes may be pretty light sensitive.
