What are you doing today?

Always a good day when I get a $100.00 USD donation for my computer help forums. :)

I had a snake named Gordon. I named him after my parents' landlord at the time. He was a wild garter snake, and I released him after the middle of summer.

I have no fear of snakes, although I saw one venomous one on a road in Gabon. I didn't want to pet it. I just wouldn't go looking for one to keep. Lizards would be another story. I like iguanas, but stick with fish and mammals as pets.

My Lazarus dwarf Cichlid I revived yesterday is back to normal, looking none the worse for wear. I suspect she has a headache and maybe a concussion from hitting the ground. That "fish cpr" trick can be useful, although you rarely need it.

I had a dream last night that my big frog reappeared. She was hungry. :) She disappeared in early December and I don't hold out hope for her...but I'll look extra carefully during today's water change.
Well, not only didn't my big frog reappear, but now Ago is missing. I have the worst luck with these critters...

Fed my fish. Off to the gym. Errands. Then a chamber music concert with Pablo Ferrández, cello and Julio Elizalde, piano. We will be home just in time for the Ravens-Bills game.

way back in 58 we belonged to a trap&rod sportsman club up in Pa. one fall day we were trout fishing in the stream and my dad ran down a frog. he took it home and put it a big yellow car washing sponge and set that on top of the 15gal aquarium I had. that frog sat on the sponge for the entire winter, don't know what it ate but in the spring we took it back to the stream and turned it loose. it merrily hopped back to the water and didn't look back.

is something eating them?
and snake habits produce a need for rat pups. I helped my granddaughter get a "normal" ball python female in September 2023, been buying rat pups every 2 weeks since then

Message I got today, their order was delivered 5 days ago.

Message:I just received my 3 extremely healthy plants and after I reviewed them , I returned to the location in my home where I took the pic and no sign of these beautiful plants anywhere. My cat don no doubt ate them before I could get them into my aquarium . Will you be willing to please , please replace them for me . I was truly satisfied with how healthy they were, especially the roots . I am unable to afford to purchase anytime soon . I will be able to in a couple of months. I sacrificed those funds to make my last purchase. Your kindness will be truly appreciated !

That's what happens when you try to pass off catnip as an aquarium plant!

That is a head scratcher. If the cat is named "Don", and it's Don Feline, the gangster, tread lightly.

I sent livebearers, a rare species, to a guy one time. He demanded a resend because they'd "arrived dead", but wouldn't send a pic. Then he started selling fry online for a while. People love to scam.

sounds as scammy as the old schoolboy excuse for not having his homework for his elementary school class:
My cat ate my homework!

You don't know how many people reach out every month demanding replacements but never sending pictures. Or they reach out a week later and say that the plant melted away. Most of it comes down to not knowing how to care for the plants.

Well... our cat did like to go after plants now and then.... but only if they smelled fishy.
