What are you doing today?

I would be very interested in your experience with this . I’m toying with the idea of a whole house dechlorinating unit . They aren’t that expensive and would make my R/O membranes last much longer , eliminate chlorine problems entirely and be better health wise .
Will do.

It must be nice to take long walks. Texas heat is so bad that my morning dog walk is less than around a block, like my corner lot perimeter and then to the back yard to potty. Once I got them out I hitched my trailer to the truck and picked up a pallet of rock I paid for yesterday. left the gates open, and backed trailer in. I am going to take truck for inspection and maybe clean aquariums and repot some plants indoors, have a heat advisory today, I think it's only getting to 103 at DFW but probably 106 in fort worth, with a temp humidity index of about 110.

Going to get a emersed growth set up today. Kinda lost interest in the hobby for a while. I guess turning a hobby into a business does that to you. Full rescape of all my tanks is coming soon. I want to try some more difficult plants.

On another note, going to pick up a truck on sunday. 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 4.7L V8. 152k miles. Only one owner. I was planning on doing some body work on it and flipping it for a profit, but I might just keep it. A good truck is a valuable investment.

I was up early today - for a Saturday! Was out the door by 8.45am to go and get my hair cut. Just a trim nothing extravagant!
After that I went and treated myself to some much needed retail therapy - it’s been a tough week for me personally.
So I went and purchased some clothes for holiday and some other bits and pieces to make myself feel better! 😊
Headed over to my LFS for some new filter media ready for tomorrow’s water change on the 30g.
Now back home and chilling, just had some lunch, got the radio playing and just relaxing watching my tanks. Might take a nap lol.
Later this evening we’re headed round to my parents for a meal and catch up, should be a good evening 👍🏻

was up late then slept in late, panic rush to shower before washing machine guy arrived (who heavily flirted/hit on me, not sure if serious though, or just typical for him), but at least washing machine bought, delivered and installed for £130. Cheaper than the Sofa Project or other places I've looked.

Other friend popping round soon before bestie arrives at 1:30 - 2pm to whisk Pixie and I off to the Quontocks!
@MattW I'm bringing chocolate bars we can ration if we lost in the Quontocks ;) )

Today, along with a million household things, I am going to rinse out a bag of filthy Quikrete playground sand. It's been out back for a long time because I used some when I bought it, and was really not impressed. I did part of it yesterday evening, and it is really bad. It's supposed to be rinsed. If it was, they poured a coffee cup of water onto every 20 kilos of sand. I'd have done better to buy the local brand bags.

I was going to give up and use it for the ice in winter, but once it is clean, it does look okay.

I'm going to try to grab some time and rescape a 75 gallon that I haven't been pleased with for a while.

My 60 gallon tank build has been held up for three weeks waiting for HTH pool filter sand that supposedly needs no rinsing ($11 for 50 lbs on Amazon). Hopefully the sand will live up to its reputation. I hate rinsing sand.

I have well-trained trucks, they break down at home. I think the water pump is out on the 2005. Puddle when I got home yesterday, checked coolant and heard a burp and the pump started dripping. I'm home. No work. TV and AC
It’s always nice to have a vehicle that doesn’t leave you walking .

all my trucks are well trained, but I do have towing on my insurance for the 2005 and AAA for the 1975. Which presently has a battery charger connected. That's a new battery, Last time I charged it I didnt have time to drive the truck, wondering if something is trickling the power away

My car is 22 years old but only has 95,000 miles on it. It will rust out before it the engine dies.

plowed his paycheck right back into that store
Yeah we have a specific option if you’re part-time to just get paid in store credit, which skips income taxes. 🤷‍♂️Questionably legal and I personally don’t want to touch it but I understand the motive 😂. So far I’ve brought home a piece of driftwood, some big water lettuce, a Platy, and a surprise male Blackbar Limia that I found in the feeder tank! So now my remaining female has a companion. Although I think she’s too small to reproduce yet, he’s about twice her size 😳
