What are you doing today?

COOL! Is that acoustic or electric? LOL! Too lazy to look it up. ;) I don't play, was a drummer instead, but still wish I had gotten my mom's old axe. Sadly some obscure cousin convinced her during a bad dementia time that he should have it and she gave it to him. It was/is an original 1954 Gibson Les Paul Blond TV model. If in the same condition as I last saw it is worth over $16,000.00 USD. My father got it for her when I was born. It is actually pretty rare as it was a limited production. It was technically another model that was white but I can't remember the model name right now. The reason that it was a limited production is that the original model was white which really didn't work well on old B&W TVs. Gibson made a limited number of the same model in a blonde color to work better in B&W.

Another odd thing with B&W is actually about Star Trek. Initially Spock was red skinned but on B&W TVs appeared black with the red tint. They changed him to a copper based green tint. To be honest I've never noticed the green tint with Spock but it is supposed to be there. :dunno:
Well, he does have blue blood, you know.

@WhistlingBadger Just think about it . Let the seed of the idea sprout . And for crying out loud go the whole 26.2 and quit playing around with this half baloney . I am seriously thinking about one more marathon , hopefully in September , and I’m gonna be 68 next week .
Oh, the idea has long-since sprouted, grown, withered, and died. Like I said, I long dreamed of doing an ultra. My body had other ideas. I am not bio-mechanically gifted, so despite what the motivational posters say, there really are limits to what is possible. But I do what I can. You should train for a couple years and do a marathon to celebrate hitting 70. That would be awe-inspiring.
Got a new guitar today.
Córdoba C7.
I didn't know you were a guitarista! I've never played a Cordoba. They look beautiful! Rosewood is so pretty. I got a great deal on a mahagony FG850 last year to be my school guitar. The sound is OK, nothing super-special, but it sure looks beautiful!

It's a classical guitar, so acoustic.

I've been playing for almost 10 years.
First time ever getting a classical guitar though. I mostly play regular acoustic. A little electric.
I am very impressed with the quality of the the cordoba. I was debating between the ceder or the spruce top, and went went with the spruce top. I am happy with the sound. It's a blast to play. Right now I'm learning
Jesu joy of man's desiring.
I got mine from Calido guitars. They set it up for optimal playability, and polish and oil the fretboard. It's costs a little more then I would pay at guitar center, but I'm also supporting a small business.

I was at my LFS today and found out they're having a buy one get one free sale on all fish under 6.99!! I'm thinking of stocking up my tank a bit more!! (Quarantining them first of course)

Also got a new Lego set today... It's been a long time since I've been able to have a new lego set. So I'm excited lol. I'll put together sometime this week. Probably on the weekend

Wow, the memories. I used to be deep into legos. What kind of kit did you get?

Yah, it's been a while lol.
If I had the money I'd have a larger collection 😆
It would be all aquariums, Legos, and fishing gear 😅

It's this one:

Decided to get something simple since I'm probably not as good as I used to be, but it also looked really sleek and more "mature" if that makes sense then some of the other sets...

The ones I REALLY want to get into are the star wars scenes. They are miniature sets but they look very nice. The endorsement speeder chase, The Executor, and The Trench Run are all ones I'd love getting.

They're so dang expensive though lol

Right above this quote! Lol.

I'll take a pic of it completed in a few days... I'm waiting until the weekend to do it

My white on black labels for my label maker got here today and seem to work well. Kind of cool how they do it. The label maker can't print white, only black so they took black plastic label material and added a thin white transfer paper on top of the black.

Printed out most of the white on black labels for my spice rack and love it! Many may say why bother as a label is a label but such things bother me a bit. I don't think anyone can argue that the white on black labels look MUCH better than the one remaining black on white. :) LOL! Now I just have to decide whether I want black on white or black on clear plastic on the white labels. Garlic Powder is black on white and Basil is black on clear.

As I play I find that I REALLY am liking this new label maker. You can even store labels for repeat use, add borders and more. Annnd, I think I figured out what the thin white transfer paper is that is over the black label material. For those old enough to actually remember a manual typewriter I think it is basically a White Out strip for making typo corrections. Interesting bit of trivia about the stuff. The original brush on liquid was invented by Bette Nesmith Graham who just happened to be the mother of Michael Nesmith of The Monkees.

I was a drummer too! When my wife and I moved across town and downsized, I sold 2 drum sets. I had not played in a long time and mainly had just played a little with my kids (one plays guitar and the other keyboards), so I lost my chops, so to speak.

I keep thinking of getting a little electronic one....too busy spending money on fish tanks to avoid further "wife aggro" at the moment, though :)

Love it! ...and it's nice when you take the time to make a little detailed enhancement. Every time you use it, it'll give a little shot of satisfaction.

I worked today. Well, I "worked." Most of my work right now is figuring out how I can put stuff off until next year LOL. I left the office around 10am and came home. I changed the water in my 75 gallon while in meetings. I DID REMEMBER to turn both valves back on the filter so I don't go 2 days without filtration again LOL.

It seems all my free time is staring at or fiddling with my tanks these days- I just LOVE it!

What make of drums did you have? Mine were Rogers with Zildjian and Paiste-Stanople symbols Although I did have a Formula 602 sizzle. While I could do 'set' drumming, and actually made some money doing so in the 1970s, my favorite was rudimentary snare with precise sticking.

I work hard every day. I've been retired for over 6.5 years and work very hard at it... best job I've ever had. ;)

The set I liked had maple PDP shells with black veneer. I bought it used- something had died in the bass drum and it stunk like something dead- BAD. The guy at the music shop told me to get incense and burn it inside. He said it wouldn't smell at all after.

I thought it would smell like incense, but anything would be better than that nasty stank. Amazingly, the guy was right! I don't know how, but the stank was gone and it didn't smell like incense either.

Anyway, the cymbals were Paiste (high-hat and crash) with Sabian ride- again, they were used. I loved that set- had the right sound.

The other one was a starter set I bought for my kid- he never used it, so it mostly sat. I can't remember the brand.

On your new profession - retirement - I am SO ready! I'm still 8-10 years away, but man, if I could figure out how to get health insurance without having to spend all my money, I'd be retired today. My wife and I don't need an extravagant lifestyle, and just want to enjoy some years together before we croak LOL.

I was born to be a "trust-fund baby" I just didn't have the money :cool::kana::kana::kana:

Just got back from a trail run. It got dark on my when I was about a mile out, and the trail was icy, so it was a good adventure.

Now I'm going to try to catch all of my little fire belly toads and put them in a container so I can so some siliconing in their area. I want to put a little rim around one of the shelves to make them a little swimming/soaking puddle, since they seem to enjoy some shallow water but the main aquarium is too scary for them. Also need to re-attach a couple of the waterfall shelves that have come loose. Wish me luck.
