What are you doing today?

The fact that all her family went to her bedside today was warning that she would not live much longer. When both my father and mother died, the hospitals advised anyone who wished to say their goodbyes to go as soon as possible. I suspect this is what happened with the Queen.

I haven't been following the news much lately. I think I knew she was sick but I didn't know how severe it was...

Hard time as in they are deeply saddened by the death?
Makes sense.
She has been the queen for a VERY long time, a span of multiple generations and has been loved by many.
It is a huge loss for the entire world...

Up until very recently, the main problem was her mobility. I don't know why the press made such a big thing about a 96 year old woman needing walking support. When my mother died at 93, she was in a wheelchair.
The Queen made the usual meeting with the new Prime Minister on Tuesday and the photos show an old, frail woman rather than one who was sick. Two days later she died. The press will speculate wildly but we are unlikely to be told the cause of death.

Yah... I saw that. I was like: "Just cause she is royalty doesn't mean she doesn't get older and has issues"
At the same time it is worrying to see. But I honestly don't get why something like that has to be made a big deal (the needing walking support not her death. Her death is a huge blow)

Yes, especially my dad. He grew up watching her on TV with his grandparents. Obviously we have our own prime minister but that doesn’t change the fact

Yes. Very much so. She means a lot to many people everywhere around the world. Not just politically but as a person as well.
Hopefully your dad taking it somewhat well

I shouldn't have logged on to see if anyone needed any help. Now I'm not going to be able to sleep and I need to do a heap of running around today. This is ****. Oh Elizabeth, if I ever have the ability to come back in time and save you, I will. You were the best Queen there has been and I miss you already. I hope there is a heaven and I hope you are there with Philip and your parents.
God rest the Queen. :(

A shining light gone forever but never to be forgotten
She never forgot her country & commonwealth
She never shied from her duty even in the darkest of hours
Universally loved and respected
Eternally missed
Reunited with her beloved Philip

RIP Elizabeth R
