What are you doing today?

Awww he's so sweet! That photo is awesome

Thanks...
But dangit my brother went outside to mess with him in the jar. He was being gentle but I didn't want the bee being handled much. I already had it in the jar.
He asked me to take it off, which I frustratingly did.
But I accidentally touched him/her wrong and got stung. Not the bees fault, just doing what it thinks is right :(
But it didn't have a stinger on its abdomen. I got it from near its wings.
Anyone have any ideas?
Is this actually a female carpenter bee or did I find a male carpenter defense mechanism?
As far as I know, males can't hurt people. Right?

Awesome!! Where? (If you mind me asking? Sorry)
The summer camp that I’ve gone to for over 10 years and worked at last summer. The owners have told me they see me as a daughter and I’m welcome to come any time so I’m very excited, it feels like home there (plus I’m going there for a very special reason that I’m not sharing today ;))

That’s a silly question.
It’s Superbowl Sunday. What do you think I’m doing.

Nahhh, I'll wait till you get back and tell me and then I'll say that "that was TOTALLY my EXACT thought!" 😉😂😂

I'll message you later as in going to our services now but I don't want to be PMing you as your on your weekend getaway. As it is, I feel bad talking to you here 😬

Right now I'm holding a carpenter bee... His whole hive got flooded and as far as I know only two survived... But my dog killed one :(
He likes resting on hand and I've tried to put him elsewhere but he just wants to stay on my hand...
I have pics if you guys want to see
at this time of year, that's a female carpenter bee I think

Well it was in one of our fence posts we had laying on the ground from our old fence... Idk if it was either a male or female. From pictures I've seen, it looks like a male and I never saw a stinger. Plus, when I got "stung", my hand was on its back near the wings, not the tail end.

I know it hurt, I picked one up in a bag of black plastic parts once and it made good contact as my hand closed around that bag. I put a little bleach on the sting (my hand) and it took care of it. I don't know where the bee went. The queen overwinters where I am, and then in spring lays a lot of eggs

I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING FOR ONE REASON BUT THEN IT WASNA DIFFERENT REASON AND AHHHHHH
