Tina's Twin Bommies

pop in for tina here mate...there bubble algae, emerald crabs are the best cure for this stuff...it's claim to fame is that when mature it is the largest single celled organism known to science, however to us salties it's another algae to keep in check.
Care has to be taken if trying manual removal because if burst it's spores will spread through the system causing it to multiply rapidly

I noticed a couple of my dads sand bed, wel he has no water, just what was live sand. So I will remove them. Thanks

wow your tank is Brill!! :hyper:  your sun coral looks fab to we have a yellow one but we did not notice when we bought it that some of it was not alive or had black dots on it :( but it does come out to feed just does not look as nice as yours.

I love you toadstool! i am looking for a long tentacled toad. but no luck yet.

Thanks for answering that Bud, I did black out at the monitor.

I have an emerald crab so will not attempt manual removal, he will eventually find it, if not, I need to add another.

I like the idea of cleopatra joining him, sweet.

I have several small colonies of it in the nano and the emerald keeps it nicely under check. Personally I like it and happily allow these colonies to survive in there.

I don't mind the odd bit myself, it attracts alot of comments from visitors would you believe.

I don't mind getting another Emerald at all, I do really like them, probably will get that on the NWMC day out at the end of October from Fishmans Frags.

I am trying to go on my own, rather than Andrew coming too, might be a bit boring for him if the 6ft is not set up, and if he has a face like a smacked weekend all day, it will drive me mad.

There are lots going that will give me a lift if Andrew drops me at the Durks.

I have today ordered a subscription to Coral Magazine from Midland Reefs, they tempted me too much by showing me an article on Mandarin Breeding on the site I mod on, lethal.

Thanks peeps.

Seffie, don't know if yours is this colour now but..

My plate coral is coming out with some stinning colours

looking good..try sot feeding at edges of disc while it is opened, cool to watch it transfer the food to it's mouth...
Check late at night for how much they can inflate at night,lol..

Its reet next to me while I am spending nights on computer. Every night it is getting bigger and bigger, need to get it feed at the same time as the others though. Think one of the fish nicked the food tonight.

Just could not believe the colour when I had a good look earlier, real metalic sheen to the purple.

Wow! Looking absolutely fantastic Tina!! Seriously, I'm really impressed with the layout and the corals. Truly inspirational! :good:
