The Fashion House Birthday Nano Tank!

Thanks guys!
How long do toadstools normally sulk for as my big one only seems to partially open....havent seen it look anything like it did in the lfs yet!
I am going to transfer some of my mushrooms tonight (if I dont spend 2 hrs in Asda again like last week!) so hopefully will have some updates today or tomorrow.

Where do toadstool generally preffered to be positioned as I wonder if it doesnt like its spot...sputnik doesnt seem to care though!
Oh and what about the mushrooms, should they go near the bottom?

some toadstools liek a reasonable amount of flow, others don't. some softies can sulk for a few days so i wouldn't worry too much.
As for the mushies they'll be fine wherever you place them as long as they're not in much flow. they also do best placed vertically rather than horizontally i've found.

yet again I failed to move the mushrooms, I think its the prospect of chipping the rock they are attached to. I will have to pluck up the courage soon! Anyone have any tips on removing mushrooms from a big piece of rock?

OK so I visited the LFS again today to get some water  or at least thats what I intended to get! I was looking for a Green clown goby but he didnt have any, so whilst I was looking the boyfriend spots a bright red starfish and says I like this one I will buy it for you, so after checking that it would be compatible with my tank etc I said yes. So off I went again and spotted a salifin blenny....how cute...I had to have it! Again after checking compatibility it was bagged up and ready for me. The LFS guy said he will get a green clown goby in for me in a 2 weeks....cool!

Oh and incase anyone else is local to the Cheltenham area this was all in Real Reefs on the tewkesbury industrial estate where dive 90 is. The reason I say is because the lfs guy has lost his African grey parrot from the shop, he is called Charly and really friendly, also chipped. If anyone finds him please let the shop know, apparently he just flew out the door 3 days ago which he has never done before!

The toadstool I bought last week has still been sulking but today it has shed it skin so hopefully will pick up now, sputnik toadstool is as happy as larry! Even when he gets knocked off by one of the hermits (reminds me I must stick him down to a bigger bit of rock), xenia is pulsing away and new heads have appeared, so all good!

Finally found out what my shrimp is.....Urocaridella antonbruunii
Anyway more pics to follow!

really nice scape in the tank! and nice new fishies :) love the starfish xD

I believe its an indian sea star.

Well today went well, off I popped to southwest marines, what a trek! Took 45 mins to get there! So when I arrived at 4 there was little time to do a tour of shops! So I just spent 2 hrs there instead! They were in the middle of doing water changes etc so was all a bit messy but ok. I was looking at some zoas but they didnt seem to have any high colour ones, just brown and pink ones. I spotted a nice Ricordea which I promptly had bagged, along with 2 small zoa frags which are quite bright (will take pics tomorrow) and then I spotted a red lipped conch....for £8! I have wanted a conch since I saw one on Jennybugs journal so after much deciding he was bagged too! So all in all a nice day out! And on the way home I saw the red arrows doing a practice display!

After acclimitisng the conch has buried himself in the sand, is this normal?
Pics will come tomorrow!

Tank looking really well..cant wait for pics, addicted to rics here,lol..

Blenny is stunning too..

Well I have been naughty and been to the lfs today to get some water. I have bought a bright green star polyp frag for £3!!! its attached to a huge rock so he is going to move it onto a small piece for me to collect next weekend and.........he is getting me a green clown goby for next weekend too!

I also had a freshwater dipping session today, had to dip the big toadstool as it was covered in flatworms and wasnt opening, also dipped my zoas as they had some nudibranchs on them and some werent opening at all....so far so good but the toadstool is sulking now! I have moved him to the back of the tank as well so he is higher up so hopefully will open up fully.

well the fw dip worked a treat, the toadstool sulked all yesterday and then this morning it had 1...yes 1 polyp open for hours and then it shed and opened to its almost lfs glory! Hopefully tomorrow it will be picture worthy! Will also get some pics of my ric, zoas and conch tomorrow too.
