The Fashion House Birthday Nano Tank!

My spotted shrimp is named after Carolina Herrera who is linked to polka dot fashion in the 80's. So Herrera or Herry for short it is!

More pics and a video coming soon.......

no not a boxing shrimp, very similar though.

Colin T said this - The shrimp look like a type of Periclemens. They are sometimes sold as anemone shrimp or glass cleaner shrimp. They come in heaps of different varieties but are characterised by having a clear body with red & white dots or lines.

Not sure though, need to see how it develops a bit more.....what ever it is, it is quite cool to watch....especially when eating as you can see the food go down!

Yeah i bet that is interesting to watch, i would go with what colin said, as i have only had first hand experience with the standard sort of cleaner shrimp myself, just a thought. good price for whatever it is (i think) :good:

I am starting to think about transfering the fish over from the 2nd tank....but what do I transfer first? The clowns, the cardinal or the Magenta dottyback? I have no idea which is best to minimalise any aggression over territory...please help!

all according how old the clowns are but I would probably go with putting them all in together as you are adding them all to a new environment, it then will not be anyones territory. If the clowns are juvies then the dottyback will probably be the most aggresive

The clowns are about 18 months old, the dottyback does seem to be the most aggresive, she tries to have a go at the cardinal every now and again but he just clicks at her and she goes away.

Ok here are some pics of the fashion house....

my algae has almost all been eaten....

Thanks YF

Seffie...can the fashion house take all that extra bioload in one go though from 4 fish?

I suspect it would be fine - you are running a skimmer aren't you? You also might want to be careful how much you feed them for a while

Thanks for the photos and video :good: the clowns are looking great and that blue mushie

no skimmer, I think I will go down the road of putting the cardinal in first...then the 2 clowns next weekend and then the the dottyback the weekend after.....or put the 2 clowns in first.......aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhh!!!!!! I cant decide!

Something has got to go in this weekend though.

When should I transfer the mushrooms over? I am planning on chipping the rock from under them and then placing them in the tank as I don't want to put the big rocks in.

Talking about the rock....as my puffers are going to go marine eventually I was thinking of putting the rock in with them rather than selling it on, now what is the lowest sg live rock will stay effectively live at? I really dont want to kill it off if i can help it.
