Its time for corals when your tank's at least a month old and you've got a good understanding of the chemistry involved :)

Cause you weren't seeing salt in the traditional NaCl, you were likely seeing calcium carbonate which can be deposited in salt mixing buckets. Calcium carbonate salts are not very soluble in water and can take some time to dissolve. Powerheads CAN help, but sometimes you just have some CaCO3 precipitate you cant get rid of.
 
Right well the green algea is back only this time in lime green patches on the sand any ideas????
 
How much in total did it cost you to convert....only asking becaus eim trying to convience the other half that we should do it too..


Im hoping before fish and CUC it will be under the £600 mark <fingers crossed>

If i Budget i might might just be able to convience her lol, i didnt realise you could get power heads that cheap!!!

i was thinking it was going to cost me in the region of £100 for 2!!!
 
actually they may of been £25 each I cant remember.

Did u get them online??

if so you couldnt point me in the direction could you lol.

She is now very interested and says as long as it wont cost more than that (not including fish) then i can have it.......im as excited as a kid in toy shop now!!!
