Ammonia Levels High

Aqaucycle is another one of those gimmicks.

The only thing ever proven to help cycle a tank was bio-spira, but that was discontinued a couple years back.

But hey, you never know, you might get lucky! :hyper:

Patience is the name of the game.

Don't worry, once it is all over you will be very excited!

i decide to do 2 w/c's there is no ammolock the results are

ammonia: 0pmm
nitrites: 0pmm

:good:
If by some miracle the bacteria product worked, it would take around a week for your ammonia and nitrite levels to be at zero.

Do a NitrAte test.

24 hours after last results the new results are

amonia: .25pmm
nitrIte: 0pmm
nitrAte: 0pmm

i like the looks of the ammonia

It seems like your ammonia is starting to be processed, however, there is not signs of NitrIte?

Does it say anywhere on your new filter you got, or any other thing in your tank right now, that *removes* NitrIte from the water?

I know there are some foam inserts that are in filter now-a-days, that have some sort of NitrIte remover?

Other wise looking very good!

ammonia: .25pmm
nitrItes: 0pmm
nittrAtes: 0pmm

should i still do a w/c?

:good:

Nope, only do a water change if your ammonia and/or nitrite is above .25 ppm.

I wonder, there has got to be something in your tank that is taking away the nitrites? But your said there is not anything?

When Ammonia starts to be processed, it turns immediately into NitrIte, so this is kinda weird that there are not NitrItes yet>

You should check what date your API test kit was made.

Look at the NitrIte bottle, there should be 4 printed numbers on it, this is the date of production.

EX: 0408, = April 2008.

It is possible that if it is over 3 years old, that the solution no good anymore.

the nitrIte bottle says 0708, so im really confused could my tank have aleady benn cycled in some way, it was runnig for 4 weeks prior to having any "fish-in cycle" issues? not sure

I am going to say no to that, but you never know.

Just keep on posting your results everyday, and I will be able to tell you when you are officially cycled. :good:
