5Ft Tank Build

Yep, i'll take some pics. Not sure if i will actually get it finished tomorrow though, its gotta sit for 4 hours between coats, then i gotta clean up any overspray before it can be bought back inside. Oh and i wanna paint the back and sides of the tank while its not against the wall. So it may end up being out there for a few days

1 coat on.....2 more to go (4 hours drying in between coats). Loving how easy it is to apply, and how easy it is to remove overspray (did a test area lol, but tank is not fully cleaned up yet)

This should be close to finished tomorrow, i have to pick up the spray paint to do the back and sides tonight, and give it one more coat of sealer. Then i just gotta wait for my tank lifters to be home at the same time to bring it back inside lol

Nope wont be finished today, nor the next few days. Tis raining and cant do the last coat of sealer nor paint the back and sides until it stops (too much moisture in the air)

Looks really good. Guessing your just gonna do the back and sides in black then ? I'm not personally convinced with black as it shows alge up more IMO. Keep up the good work tho

What else would i paint?  No point doing the bottom as it will have substrate anyway, and well doing the front sorta defeats the purpose of having a glass tank lol
 
Most of my tanks are black background (some sides as well). I personally dont find algae an issue, which is why i love the black, hides a lot of things lol and makes the fish/plant colours pop
 
Though in this particular tank you wont see the black from the inside, as the background is fully covering the areas i am painting

Rain has stopped!! So i am about to head out and put the final sealer coat on! Woohooooo.  I wont however get to the black painting until tomorrow as i will need more paint than i have on hand

Looking good. I thought it sounded pointless to paint the back as you had done such a good job with the backing is all. Looking forward to seeing it filled up with your plants and fish etc
