5Ft Tank Build

The painted back looks nice  And your background is stunning! How long before you can add water? I forgot :(

Thank PM.....The sides can be seen where the tank is sitting, i wanted it neat and tidy as it is a display tank, being able to see messy foam and silicone to me is not display worthy.

I can add water as soon as its brought back inside :)

So while i await my tank movers, i've decided to give the stand a sand and paint it.

I've pretty much decided it cant stay where it is currently. I am a bit nervous about filling it as it sits beside the 4ft display, the 4ft alone weighs just under 1/2 a ton, filling the 5ft beside it will stress the section of floor to holding around 1 ton of weight, not sure that a brilliant idea.
So easiest and cheapest fix is to move the 5ft to another part of the house. Or i will need to bring in someone to beef up the support below that part of the floor (not a cheap solution!)

Ok update time

Decided i wanted to paint the stand black, just finished that lol, Now just waiting for it to dry so that the stand/tank can be placed in the new spot (which is all ready and waiting). The new tanks that will be going underneath will hopefully be finalized this week also

On a roll now lol

Stand is in place (i can move that on my own), now just gotta wait for my hubby and son to be home at the same time to move the tank :D

Yeppers, more pics to come.

Will then make sure tank is level
Fill, leave overnight
Test in morning and then drain
Fill again
Run internal with charcoal only overnight
Test and then drain
If tests show no param changes, will start to scape tank
Setup hardware (canister, heater etc)
Fill & Declorinate
Bring up to temp
Add some canaries
Test some more

Providing all goes well, the tank will be stocked with final inhabitants (canaries will become feeders)

The tigers' den is ready to rumble!

Can't wait for the canaries to be put in! I'm sure its stunning!

Nope not for the Tigers, this will house cichlids i'm hoping. Though the canaries will probably be endlers.

I did wonder for a moment what canary fish looked like until I realised what you meant!

Yep something has to test it, and i'm pretty confident they will end up as feeders for the cichlids

Oh ya! I got mixed up with your other topic! Haha

Stand looks lovely! Can't wait to see the tank on it and filled :)
