Moss is going to be a nightmare come trimming time 😬

I havent been on here in a while. I have a few days of work so doing a bit of work on the tank.

I needed to make a stand to accomodate a filter and other stuff so made a stand out of ply. It will be covered with a few layers of 5mm flexi ply. Not sure how I will do the door.image_2025-05-08_122731206.png

Top and base 25mm plywood
Internal parts 18mm Plywood
25mm x 50mm Timber
Gorilla Glue and 50mm Plywood screws
Pair of Draw slide runners
2-3 layers of 5mm Flexible ply for outer skin.

Not sure about the door. Maybe a removeable
curved ply door with a magnetic latch system

I also plan to make the hood.

I plan to wrap the whole thing in white vinyl wrap

Very nice build... I was waiting for an update !!!

I went close to bump the thread yesterday :)

Looks like it's gong to be tall !

Thanks..

Yep very tall. Roughly 5.5ft tall. I will need to build a step ladder to climb up and maintain it now..

Not a bad height for viewing.

PIC of the original base.

I like my tanks taller... most are double stacked tanks, so the top is usually 36 inches at base height... my 250 gallon, that will be the most viewed tank, once set up, will be on a base of 48" and the sides of the tank are 30 inches tall, so it's meant to be viewed from a standing position...

Looking forward to more updates. You using London tap water?

Yes, I use London tap water for water changes. Left to sit aerated for a few hours and treated with prime.

Ordered a few more parts including some white vinyl wrap so will update in a few days.
