I was thinking of adding a few little shrimpies to my 20 gallon. However... the residents are 4 otos, 5 neon tetras, and a handful of "adult" guppies with babies who get eaten up on a regular basis. Wouldn't the little cherry shrimps get all gobble up by these tank mates???

Best of luck. You are doing your best. Sakura's life is first in line, so just do as best as you can as she makes a speedy recovery. If a fish doesn't make it, don't try to go out and just replace it. That's a whole new can of worms.

Don't give it up! Keep on going. It's fun. Poultry is my main thing, and there are times where you think it cant get any worse too. Like when the power goes out and hundreds of baby chicks die a day before hatching, or a random bird flies by and your flock gets a nasty disease or paracite...

They are so silly! I moved another algae covered shell to them last night and this morning you can see the shell again! I do have algae flakes/chunks for them that sink so once they finish off the algae on tank and plants, they can still keep their big fat round bellies.

Well, I'm expecting fry to be eaten. I'm happy with what is in the tank now. I'd rather have too few fish than too many, especially since I will be away from my tank for weeks, maybe months at a time, to be left under the supervision of my little brother... little meaning 21.

Thanks. I don't think I'll be increasing circulation any more than it is already since my plants are all angled at about 30 deg from the vertical and the filter outflow isn't even pointed at them. It's pointed at the front of the tank from the side. Odd thing is.. .it's only on the plants and...

So some sort of algae is coating my plants. I am only running 1WPG, and only have hornwort in the tank. I just noticed that this green algae stuff is taking over the leaves and coating it like a cocoon! How do I get rid of such a thing? Just pick it off by hand? I haven't tried that yet but...

Defiantly 20 gallons! It's a 20 long 12x12x30. A 5 gallon tank is tiny, but so would a 20 if you tried to put in a 2 foot long plec. So sounds like corries are a win, but what about those oto's that were mentioned? Sounds like the corries stir up the gravel while otos can clean up the algae on...

Ah, yes, it is a 20 gallon Long tank. I actually don't know what the current stats on the tank are. I ran out of strips awhile ago and haven't gotten more. Thinking about going for the bottle set testing kit rather than the strips you dip and compare with the label on the bottle for the numbers...
