In canada at mo, and all i could get was the capsuals that counter act certain illness' & turn the water green. I've removed the platy and placed in a isolation tank. Thought give hime 5 days or so and see how he does.. just hope it hasn't spread. :/

Pretty sure. Its very much like cotton wool as apposed to spots, and it encasing the fin like a sock.

No worries thats cool. I know the need to move, although the severums quite happy with the other fish at the mo and they dont bother each other. He has a small problem with the Gourami's but that should be solved in January went the new tank is purchased.

Yeah they're in my 12G. I know they'll outgrow the tank in a year or so, but I plan to get more tanks by then. I was also assured by the LFS that they would be ok, and they have always offered sound advice. Did a water change today, and also 2 weeks ago. Usual amount of water and time.

Here you go: They're all the same. Look at your post black angle, these are the same too, and sounds like I might have 3 females. Doubt it explains the freakyness though.

I think they're dwarf. Was told they were dwarf or miniture gourami. They're yellow in colour, and have what resemble a peacocks pattern on there tails and fins. People walk past, but always have done, it's only in the last few days that this has all started.

Not sure. Was told you could tell by the dorsel fins, but they're all the same??

They're not white patches, but just his scales reflecting the light - gues he's had a knock in the past. All the stats are fine/normal. P.H is about 7.6

after researching columnaries, I doubt that it is this. It re-occured one day but was gone the next, and I doubt that after neally two weeks since I first noticed it, that if it was columnaries and with no treatment - would they still be alive?? I think not.

Maybe it makes swimming more interesting!!? Or maybe one fish started, then another followed, then another and before you knew it there was a trend setting in. The new fish saw all the other "cool" fish doing it so thought they'd copy to fit in!! - not such a silly theory really...?
