empty the tank to a quarter full, then get someone to help carry it to the hallway, make sure you have a stable surface to transfer the tank to, and by no means lift it by urself it will be just too heavy and awkward. dont forget to add tapsafe or similar to tank when filling it back up.

leave it to cycle for a week or two weeks, to build up your aqauriums 'good' bacteria, there is an article on here somewhere about cycling i suggest you read that aswell.

i dont think it would be wise for domestic use but hey each to their own, if your serious about it speak to your local pet store and ask them how they do it and costs for setting it up , im sure they will be happy to help you.

ive heard of people keeping their fish sweet, but thats going to extremes lol. just do a 50% water change, vac, cleans filters, it should be ok.

the carbon is always left in my tank, it cleans the water chemically, thats is what it states on the box in comes in.

i got rams too, i think that is how they act, plus the line going through the eye is normal.

it sounds like you have got too many fish in there, when i was keeping goldfish i fed 2 small pinches, one in the morning and again at night. dont worry if your fish are looking frantic, they can go for days without food, but if you are worried then for peice of mind feed them three small...

i would agree with john 5748, they are relaxing, but a pain in the a***e when things do go wrong, i love keeping fish and are a relaxing way to spend time. my tank is in my bedroom and is the focal point of it and everyone comments on it when they walk in.

i think the lfs is your best bet, would be nice to see them go to a zoo though.

cool tank but bear in mind the surface area of the tank has been reduced. get some airstones in the tank if you havent already. remeber less surface area = less fish
